Police issue a short statement on crowd trouble which we saw after the Nuneaton v Rushall playoff final on Bank Holiday Monday.
Police say that they received a call from a 999 number reporting a fight after the Southern League Central Premier playoff fixture.
Social media users said trouble broke out outside the Liberty Way stadium after the Boro’s loss to Rushall Olympic.
After the last penalty Nuneaton was missed, Rushall were promoted into the sixth tier, with one teenager running the length the pitch and threw flares at the Rushall supporters. Stewards dealt with him quickly.

There were reports that a fight broke out outside of the stadium, in which a chair and punches were thrown.
CoventryLive contacted Warwickshire Police to find out more about the incident and were told they had been made aware of group fighting, but no further action was needed.
The spokesman said that they were informed of a report about a fight at Nuneaton’s Borough at around 6:15pm.
The playoff final had an attendance of over 3,500, an incredible turnout.
Nuneaton manager Jimmy Ginnelly spoke via the Coventry Telegraph newsletter saying he was ‘absolutely delighted’ to see the terraces full of people, but was ‘absolutely gutted’ at the result.
“To watch them scenes, to see the bouncing and to see the stands full again, everyone who has backed me so far would have stood here today and think we certainly have got our football club back,” he told CWR.
“Hopefully if there are 3,500 people here today, there was a lot of new faces, they have seen what we have tried to build and see it is club on the up. Hopefully they all come back and watch the league games.
“I am absolutely delighted with the crowd, but absolutely gutted, no one wants to lose like that. I can’t thank everyone enough.”

Rushall Olympic vice-chairman Nick Allen dedicated the club’s promotion to the National League to his late mother.
He said, as per Express & Star: “It is a day and a week that I will never forget personally and it is very emotional at the moment.
“Rushall are essentially a village club who have been going at it for more than 25 years doing it our way, we have a spirit and a way of doing things.
“We don’t buy the league, we try to build a reputation of involving ourselves with good people we can trust and it might be a cliché but it is like a family.”
He said: “It is a real David against Goliath stuff and to think about what will happen next season is unreal – it shows what you can achieve in football.
“When we took over our local derby was Pelsall Villa who sadly no longer exist and to look at the sides we will play next season is amazing, it will take a while to sink in.
“It has been hard work, we have had plenty of knock backs, just from the lie of the land and the geography of the ground we have thought of shutting the gates a number of times – but I don’t think we every seriously would have.”
The trouble at Nuneaton comes weeks after we saw similar scenes for their game at Tamworth. The game was replayed.
