PHOTOS: Proposed designs for Woking’s new Community Stadium revealed

Proposals for Woking’s new Community Stadium have recently gone on show following a public consultation being held at the club last week.

The plans consist of a 10,000 capacity stadium but also includes a new neighbourhood – called Cardinal Court – with more than a thousand houses.

Woking currently play in the National League – one step below English Football League – with the ground meeting the EFL specifications.

Rosemary Johnson, chair of Woking FC: “This is a really exciting time for Woking Football Club and our supporters.

“We are an ambitious community-focused club with huge potential, shown by our FA Cup run last season.”

“The consultation will feed into the process of drawing up a planning application, so the plans aren’t set in stone.

“There are things we can change and we’ll take on board as many of the suggestions as we can.”

Ian Cooney, associate director at Holmes Miller Architects Glasgow, the designers of the stadium, said: “It’s a unique opportunity for Woking FC and the community of Woking to achieve a brand new stadium for the 21st century and a stadium fit for the English football league.

“The stadium is designed for match day and non-match day – it will have community facilities – so it’s a sustainable design.”

After checking out the proposed designs of the new stadium, fans took to give their reaction on whether they like it or not – find out what they went with by clicking on the next page.
