National League side to let a supporter get the chance to direct new signing video

There have been a variety of weird and wonderful ways new player signings are revealed in the past, including Alexis Sanchez playing the piano, Santi Cazorla magically appearing in a plume of smoke behind a glass tube and Aston Villa mimicking a scene from Love Island with ‘I’ve got a text’.

But now the National League side have done something rather unique, and that is to let a supporter direct one of their newest signings.

The club said: “AFC Fylde giving you the opportunity to send us your ideas for our social media announcement for our latest signing, and be the media manager for the afternoon.”

They go into detail, stating the person needs to have a video camera, a green screen, club scarf, Mill Farm stadium, an iPhone, a sharpie, paper and tape / blue tack though not all have to be used.

Their additional budget will be a total of £10 and that the video should be between 1:00 – 2:00 minutes long

Fylde will pick the best one, and then film it, ready for release online.

Fans need to give their idea to the club via their official social media pages by 12pm on Tuesday 24th July.

The winning person has their name credited at the end as ‘Directed by’ along with a home shirt signed by the new player, signed copy of Football Manager 2019 and the club scarf used in the creator’s video.

Now we can’t wait to see the end result!
