Peter Crouch and Paul Potts plot Christmas number one with a new remix album of popular football chants usually heard on the terraces.
The former footballer has linked up with the well known opera singer and a 20-piece orchestra in a bid to turn terrace song into chart success.
Crouchy has put together a classical album of football songs including such chants as You’re Not Singing Anymore, VAR My Lord and Engerland, Engerland, Engerland.

The project, which sees eight tracks recorded – Crouchy Conducts The Classics – has been produced by Paddy Power and all proceeds will be donated to LGBT+ charity Stonewall in response to World Cup hosts Qatar’s human rights record.
The 41-year-old said: āIāve always wanted to release my own album – so what better time than during a World Cup at Christmas? Weāve taken the best terrace chants and sprinkled a bit of festive magic on them.
“The whole team put in a big shift and Iām really happy with the teamwork, dedication and the finished product. With Paddy Powerās bank roll and the peopleās support, we hope a Christmas number one album is coming home at the very least.”
The tongue in cheek record was released earlier this week and bookmakers Paddy Power has already pledged Ā£25,000 to the charity.
Potts said: ‘Iāve always wanted to release my own album – so what better time than during a World Cup at Christmas?
‘Weāve taken the best terrace chants and sprinkled a bit of festive magic on them.
‘The whole team put in a big shift and Iām really happy with the teamwork, dedication and the finished product. With Paddy Powerās bank roll and the peopleās support, we hope a Christmas number one album is coming homeā¦ at the very least.’
Paul added: ‘Our goal with the album is to inspire England fans to cheer on the team give the country the lift they so desperately need right now.
‘It was an honour to get the World Cup call-up from an England legend like Peter. Iāve always looked up to him.’
Also featuring on the album are soprano Olivia Safe, who has previously recorded with the likes of Hans Zimmer, Trevor Horn and Robbie Williams, with English National Opera singer Robin Bailey as a tenor.
Working with musical director and Royal Academy of Music alumni James Radford on the album, Peter Crouch has undergone classical training ahead of this, also making his conducting debut.
The debut single will raise money for menās mental health charity Talk Club and was released on the 11th of November ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Crouch and co could also be battling for Christmas number one with Tyson Fury who is currently joint favourite, with his version of the classic, Sweet Caroline.
āThe Gypsy Kingā has spoken honestly about his own struggles with mental health and suicidal thoughts since returning to boxing in 2018 after it looked like his career was over.
In 2015, after one of the greatest performances from a British fighter on foreign soil, Fury had depression.
As well as alcohol and cocaine abuse, āThe Gypsy Kingā was dealing with bipolar disorder and was engrossed by suicidal thoughts.
āIāve been an alcoholic, Iāve been a drug addict, Iāve been a fat b***** because I am a food addict and thereās not much I havenāt been addicted to, to be fair,ā Fury told talkSPORT in May 2021.
āBut I have recovered and I do feel better for it. There is life after mental health, if you manage it, and the last thing we need is for people to give in to mental health.
āIt is a fight, it is a battle that we will have to continue to battle and fight for our whole life. But life is so much worth fighting for.ā
