Paddy Power took to troll Ruben Amorim with a message displayed on a bus outside Man Utd’s Old Trafford on earlier this week.
A green bus which had a cheeky dig at the 3-4-3 formation drove around the stadium. Paddy Power had written “The only 3-4-3 that works in Manchester…”
Amorim, who has won only one of his four league matches this season, faced criticism for sticking to the tactic despite poor results, including a 3-0 loss to Manchester City and that Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town.
The bus displayed a message mocking Amorim’s struggling system, highlighting United’s worst season start in 33 years, with the team sitting 14th place going into the weekend.
Amorim remains defiant, refusing to change his formation despite fan frustration.

The bookmakers said via their website: “It never rains but it pours, eh Ruben? Especially in Manchester.
“Following a deluge of poor results since becoming a Red Devils boss – including a stunning defeat to League Two’s Grimsby Town and a 3-0 derby defeat to their noisy neighbours in recent weeks – we couldn’t resist taking a swipe at the Man United manager’s tactical woes by plastering a light-hearted dig on the side of a local bus service as it’s – wait for it – the only 343 that works in Manchester.
“Thank you, thank you, no need for applause… (okay, well maybe just a little)…
“The bus, which normally runs the Oldham to Hyde 343 route, was spotted this morning looping round Old Trafford and cutting through the city centre with the brutal slogan splashed across its side.
“And it will surely hit home with United supporters and Old Trafford staff as it’s aimed squarely at Ruben Amorim, whose stubborn devotion to his 3-4-3 system came under more scrutiny this week following that humbling Man City loss on Sunday and amid a string of shocking results since taking over at the club last year.
“United’s dreadful start to the season – just four points from their first four games and their worst opening to a season in 33 years – has left the club languishing in 14th place in the Premier League, but their Portuguese coach doubled down after the City loss last weekend, insisting he’d sooner lose his job than abandon his beloved formation.
“Though with grumbling fans checking their watches and wondering when the next three points is going to arrive and Amorim set to face the media ahead of Chelsea’s visit to Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
“Our own top tactician Paddy Power commented: Times are tough up in Manchester. Some things clearly aren’t working, but we think it’s only fair to credit those who are getting the job done. Sadly, for United fans, it looks like they’ll have to ride it out when it comes to the 343 situation.”

Here’s how social media users reacted after Paddy Power took to cheekily troll Ruben Amorim with a message displayed on a bus outside Man Utd’s Old Trafford…
Ross Goulding: Well played. Well played, sirs.
@MickDelaney17: Paddy’s obsession with United is just weird at this stage. They must have destroyed the admins childhood or something.😆
@AllardyceBall: Stop picking on Man Utd or their fans will be crying like little girls in the comments again! 😂
Gareth Parry: That’s next level marketing to be fair.
Lewis John Thomas Burns: Why does paddy power hate United so much
Jake Whelan: Id still put a bet that it still wouldn’t turn up
Mark Ian Anthony Branson: Ironically, the 343 is running today! It is operated by Diamond Bus, whose drivers are not on strike! They could do with a bus of that size though, to pick up all the passengers that can’t get on most of the other buses in Tameside, Saddleworth and Oldham.
Gary Stevenson: The irony of doing this on day that there is a city wide bus strike is genius
Amanda Nicholson: I was on this bus today. If you zoom in, you can see me upstairs with a grey coat on. I’m famous. Lol. Random people were stopping to take pictures on their phones! Then other people were trying to get on and couldn’t understand that it wasn’t a real bus.
Matt Beare: Fair play Paddy 👏 😂
Lee Dare: 😂😂😂 #ruthless
