Oliver Glasner tells Crystal Palace fans to ‘stay humble’ as he hits back at their chants calling for him to go.
Fair to say that was a press conference which surely would prove to be the final nail in the coffin. But after holding yet more talks, Palace inform Oliver Glasner that they want to continue with him until when he departs in June; but it could be earlier based on the next weeks.
He cast huge doubt over his future by refusing to confirm whether he’d see out the season, and already confirmed that he will leave this summer, but with Palace winning just once in their last 15 games, and the boss already stating that he is ‘not good enough’.
“Stay humble, never forget where you’re coming from” 😳

Crystal Palace fans call for Oliver Glasner to go after 1-1 draw with Zrinjski
Oliver Glasner took swipe at Crystal Palace supporters on Friday following on from supporters calling for his dismissal during Thursday’s Conference League draw at Zrinjski Mostar in Bosnia.
Palace also find themselves in a Premier League relegation battle, while the FA Cup holders also dumped out of the competition in one of the biggest ever shocks to sixth-tier Macclesfield.
He said, when asked about fans’ calling for him to be sacked: “I didn’t expect the fans to carry me through London after winning the trophy (FA Cup) so they can say and sing whatever they want.
“I always say the most important thing is to stay humble and I think it’s the same for the fans.
“Never forget where you have come from. The few who are so critical in this situation are not humble any more and have forgotten where they have come from. Usually in life you get punished for this.
“The expectations have completely changed and we cannot deal with it as a team and our fans are dealing even worse.”
Glasner also slammed his players: “I feel many players think they have to move on and some are looking at where they will play next year rather than where they are playing right now.
“I’ve always given my best. Palace have had the best time in their history and I played a small part in this. It would have been easy for me to have stepped back earlier – there have been many opportunities.
“But I didn’t because I felt responsible for the players.”
Here’s the reaction on social media after Oliver Glasner tells Crystal Palace fans to ‘stay humble’ as he hits back at chants for him to go…
@FYPFanzine: We are humble. We’ve seen some dreadful times as a club. We’ve seen suffering. We’ve hit rock bottom. We love the highs and appreciate the lows. But we aren’t a charity case. You aren’t just doing us a favour. You’re being paid to do a job, and you keep saying you can’t do it. Our fanbase has been patient. Understanding. Appreciative. We’ve never experienced the joy you gave us. And we will never forget it. But you don’t have to insult us. You don’t have to make these comments repeatedly. You have free will. If you want to go, then go. This relationship is abusive. You think we don’t deserve you. YOU DON’T DESERVE US. You’re not putting your all into this anymore. We can see it. The players are showing it. We’ve stood by you, despite your insolence. We are humble. But we know when someone is taking the piss.
@geordiejosh: He’s bang on the money btw
@Danny_CPFC: Tomorrow HAS to be toxic! Surely we can’t let him consistently talk like this! We can’t be as spineless as Parish?! #CPFC
@_pharook: Club sells best players and their best forward is losing chances but expects him to perform a miracle. Perfect response from him!
@CharlieLUFC97: The bloke is begging to be sacked 😂
@Jonno55Ng: Has there ever been a manager, who slates the fans, slates the board, slates the players, has 2/3 outbursts and is still here, don’t be stubborn @CEO4TAG this is ridiculous he is taking us down !! #cpfc
@gidleymike: How can we have this man lead out the team tomorrow, he can’t motivate them anymore and doesn’t want to be there. Granted he has achieved more than any previous manager but he is maligning the club and it’s players, at a pre match presser. He must go today. #cpfc
@Lewiswilliams0: He’s gone full Roy Hodgson
@shave_stuart: I’ve never known anything like this. Absolutely begging to be sacked. And Parish determined not to pay him a penny. Meanwhile the club and the fans suffer. Just how has it come to this. What a bloke he has turned out to be. #cpfc
@AyewAlrightMate: There’s no coming back from attacking the fans. That should be the final nail in the coffin #cpfc
@IAG828: Despite everything we really need to get behind OG and the team on Sunday and on Thursday and see where it takes us. A negative vibe at Selhurst helps no one. FWIW I think he should have gone but that’s academic for the time being. PTID #CPFC
