Officials were booed by the home fans after the decision to disallow Hull’s goal, then Millwall go on to win the game 3-1.
Around 13 minutes in, John Lundstram sent in a cross for Kyle Joseph, but the header came back off the crossbar.
Then Millwall go up the other end, won a free-kick, Femi Azeez picked out Tristan Crama, who put it across goal and Jake Cooper, with a volley, hit the crossbar, but the ball goes across the line.
Hull levelled on 18 minutes, Joe Gelhardt going inside and puts it past Anthony Patterson to level the score again.
On the half hour mark, Hull had the ball in the net but didn’t count. Joe Gelhardt’s shot deflected and looped over to Kyle Joseph, who nodded it in.
The referee blew his whistle for a foul by Oli McBurnie, who’s adjudged to be blocking Anthony Patterson from getting out to the ball.
Juts before that, McBurnie called for a spot kick after going down under a challenge from Danny McNamara.

Don’t think a single Millwall player really appeals? @FA_PGMOL you lot are killing Football #hcafc pic.twitter.com/h8NcKC50qj

Peter Swan (Ex-Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside): “There’s reason for the crowd to boo. The keepers get so much protection. That should have stood. The ref’s got it wrong for me.”
@bazdjcooper: “Whatever happens in the rest of the game, I suspect Kevin Friend might be back on the phone to Dean Holden. Pathetic decision. #hcafc
“Can anyone tell me why that goal was disallowed?
“City have been good in that first half and should be in front. Let down by a really poor refereeing decision.
“FT: Hull City 1-3 Millwall. Thought City were brilliant for long periods of that game. Shafted in the first half, but defensive errors have been a real problem again.”
Mihailo Ivanovic put Millwall ahead on 70 minutes, a slight shocker from Ivor Pandur, who failed to deal with Femi Azeez’s low ball, Ivanovic there to tap into a wide open goal.
Josh Coburn then made it 3-1 on 78 minutes, getting onto Semi Ajayi’s loose pass and puts it into the bottom left corner.
Peter Swan (on BBC Radio Humberside): “Hull have played well enough to win this game but they’ve shot themselves in the foot with individual mistakes.”
The result sees Millwall move up to third and within a point of the automatic promotion places ahead of the 3pm kick offs on Saturday.
Ipswich will climb above the Lions if they beat Leicester, while Hull remain seven points clear of seventh and six points off the top two.
Here’s the social media reaction after the officials booed by fans over the decision to disallow Hull’s goal, then Millwall go on to win 3-1…
@BrownyHull: Replays show Ollie impeded the goalkeeper but it is extremely soft. Don’t expect anything less from Webb though.
@adbr1985: Or the stonewall penalty on McBurnie. If we had decent refs this season we would be top
@Jeffo87: Ref says Mcburnie backed in but he didn’t he was stood still. It’s an awful decision
@davidwheldrake: It’s a shocking decision Baz and it can’t be justified. McBurnie and their keeper both moved towards the ball and any contract between the two was initiated by their keeper. There isn’t a Law in the game that says that you’ve got to get out of the way for the Keeper.
@adbr1985: Changed the game. And basically the result.
@ianberriman: It looks more like a foul from the other angle… but if you watch that six times it also looks like McBurnie is pushed into the goalkeeper by the Millwall defender.
@MarkApathetic: The reaction of the keeper tells you it’s a goal. What does he think he’s seen.
@MattyBonewell: Someone explain to me how this is a foul? @EFL sort your refs out please #hcafc
@CBeurling: Keeper runs into Mcburnie, how are these refs in a job? If you watched the ref, he gives the goal but changes his mind after being persuaded by them.. Fucking hell…
@adbr1985: The game’s gone. Perfectly good goal after a stonewall penalty not given. Literally against 12 men here. The most bias official I’ve ever seen #hcafc
@HullCityGeo: Why did that goal actually get disallowed, i seriously saw nothing wrong – and neither did the lino. The state of officiating in this league is genuinely ridiculous. Brilliant first half, unlucky with the two bar hits, poor defending for thier goal, awful reffing. #hcafc
@TigerBitez1904: Refs lost the game now. Not a pen for city but nothing on the Millwall keeper. I know Prem fans dont want VAR but the standard of officiating in the championship is atrocious #hcafc
@dazzar86: How are we not winning?! Hit the crossbar twice, a soft disallowed goal, could have 2 or 3 others and their goal offside… Drameh and Joseph having their best games for us. Need to keep the tempo and pressure on in the second half. #hcafc
@Fletch2sv: That has never ever been a foul on the keeper. Shit referee yet again #hcafc
@sturayner: #HCAFC’s disallowed goal is an absolute shocker by David Webb.
