Notts County are aiming to set a new record for an attendance outside of the English Football League, it’s been revealed this week.
They will be hosting AFC Fylde and are expecting a bumper crowd inside Meadow Lane as the Magpies hope to get back to back wins for the first time this season.
As a thank you to the community for their support, especially during their rough times, they have slashed their ticket prices.
They are hoping for a five figure attendance and to potentially set a new record in beating the one set by Bristol Rovers who had 11,085 fans turn up for the game against Alfreton Town in 2015.
“Last season, when we had 15,000 in against Cambridge, we didn’t have a good enough team to take advantage of it,” he said.
“But the atmosphere in the place was electric. With this group of boys, they will feed off it and spur us on to back to back wins.
“If people come back and see some of the football we play, they might think ‘oh that’s good to watch’. You can get that reaction.
“Nottingham is a fantastic sporting city especially when you come over the bridge and see the three grounds next to each other.
“It will be great for people who love sport to come and support a team from here and really get behind them.”
Ticket prices are down to £3 for adults – and of course cheaper offers for those of other ages.
