This is how the National League, North and South tables would look if it was based on PPG (points per game), now the main season has officially ended.
BBC journalist Ollie Bayliss has constantly kept fans updated on what happens next, saying that clubs will vote on how to decide the season’s outcomes.
The choice is likely to be to ‘decide leagues by PPG’ or ‘make it void’, something yet to be announced from the league.
Step 3 of non league football has been declared null and void, but with teams dropping out of divisions or having to fold further below, it could mean teams will be promoted to fill spaces.
Playoff games also haven’t been ruled out as an option. Check out those tables below…

Looking at this the PPG option looks the best of a bad choice. Very few changes in position which is good. Unfortunate on two clubs as far as I can see (@StockportCounty and @SpennymoorTown) doesn’t appear to change the relegation places at all.

Not sure how people can argue against PPG. It’s a measure of who performed best in the games played. If you are second-best on PPG, then it’s because you were second-best in the games played! ??♂️

Make it void = fair to Step 3-7 has voided
PPG = there will be huge argument from Step 3-7 to appeal the decision to FA regards the decision to null and void for all Step 3-7.
It will be interesting what they have to say.— Matthew Napier (at ?) (@MANapier19) April 22, 2020
For me imo it has to ppg with no play offs, which should have been the option for steps 3-7

I like the idea of Ppg, surely you’ll get some challenges, from the likes of York, but much fairer to do that. Should be done further down the pyramid.

The season is over 3/4s complete, how anyone could suggest that isn’t a representative amount of games to justify current places is beyond me. Null and void rewards failure and punishes clubs that have consistently played well all season. No option left now though is “fair”.

And proof why PPG has far less impact than null and void.

Are the PPG allocated simply by taking the games played and points gained so far this season and applying that average to the remaining unplayed fixtures, or have you taken account of the possible difference in average for home and away games and then applying those averages to those left to be played?
