The job as manager of Southend United is up for grabs and after looking on Sky Bet, it would seem there is some bosses with recent National League experience.
Barnet’s Darren Currie is one of them listed after having a positive spell at the club since being appointed back in December 2018.
They currently sit 12th in the top tier of the non league pyramid but one game less than Solihull Moors who are a place above them and the Bees are two games behind almost everyone else around them.
Currie’s side won 3, drew 4 and lost once so far in the 2019/20 campaign, and for last season, he guided them from 15th to a 12th place finish.
So far in his spell as Barnet manager, he’s won 13, drew 15 and lost 10, getting a win % of 34.21.
With this in mind, Southend are reportedly considering an approach for Currie and he is 7/1 favourites for the job along with another manager in Gary Waddock, who most recently managed Aldershot Town.
He left the Shots in May after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
They were relegated from the National League that season after finishing 21st in the table.
Waddock had taken charge in the summer of 2016 and led the club to consecutive fifth-placed finishes in his first two seasons back at the Hampshire side who had had spells with between 2007 and 2009, winning the Conference title in 2008.
