Mourinho and Guardiola Meet Again In The League Cup Final

Tottenham and Manchester City will play for the first title of the season in this year’s English League Cup final. This means that familiar faces in the managerial roles, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, will again lock horns. Regarded as 2 of the best managers in the world, their rivalry started in 2009.

At that time, Jose was at Inter and Pep was at Barcelona and they started their battle with a goalless draw in the champions league group stage. Since then, they’ve played against each other 24 times Guardiola is in the lead. He has beaten Mourinho’s teams more than anyone else in the world with 11 wins. Jose has managed to come out on top only seven times, and they’ve drawn six times until this day.

When is The EFL Cup Final?

Initially scheduled for February 28, the League Cup final was moved to Sunday, April 25, hoping for fans to attend it. It will be played at Wembley as it has been the case for the past 12 years. Hopefully, the Covid situation will be better in almost four months from now, and the final will be played in front of a live audience. Of course, many fans like to bet on their favorite teams; and benefiting from the free bets in the UK is the best way to do it.

No Clear Favourite For This Year’s Title

Guardiola’s Manchester City did not have a start to the season they dreamed of. After a few shaky performances without Aguero, they finally started to look like the team we know, knocking Manchester United out 0-2 in the semi-final. With the defensive pairing of Ruben Dias and John Stones, they are excellent at the back. Phil Foden has the long-awaited breakthrough for City, and he looks vital in the creative part of their midfield.

On the other hand, Spurs rely on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min’s irresistible force, who have both been incredible since the start of the season. They have a total of impressive 33 goals in all competitions until today. Mourinho was brought to Tottenham to deliver titles, and he is so close to his first one. It is not going to be easy against his toughest opposing manager.
