MK Dons keeper kicks Bradford’s GoPro before conceding twice within a minute in 4-0 defeat

MK Dons keeper Nathan Harness kicks Bradford’s GoPro camera before conceding twice within a minute in his side’s 4-0 defeat on Tuesday.

The Bantams picked up consecutive victories in the league with the resounding victory with manager Graham Alexander, who was sacked by the opposing team after just 16 games in charge, came away with all three points.

Following a win against Wrexham on Saturday, Bradford wasted no time in taking the lead against another League Two playoff contender in MK Dons.

The first of the four goals came in the 14th minute, defender Matty Platt netting from a distance of 15 yards.

MK Dons goalkeeper Nathan Harness was once again beaten after 36 minutes with Calum Kavanagh scoring from a rebound having seen Clarke Oduor’s shot strike the post.

Bradford continued to put pressure on their opponents in the second half, scoring two goals within a minute.

Andy Cook, with his 15th goal of the season, and then 20 minutes from kicking off again, MK Dons conceded when Cook intercepted Warren O’Hora’s pass, and although his initial shot was blocked, Oduor was there to convert the rebound from inside the six-yard box.

Graham Alexander said he had been proud of his side: “We have beaten a good team tonight.

“Four goals, a clean sheet and a good performance.

“It was important that Saturday was not just a flash in the pan result.

“I am so glad that tonight we found our clinical edge in front of goal.

“You can see we have been getting better at it in the last few games, forcing more saves and hitting the target more.

“We encourage them to get into those positions and not shy away from taking the chances.”

“I think our team has been really connected.

“For me, after a win like tonight, that is the Valley Parade I have been waiting for.

“They (the supporters) have been on the verge of it, but then we have not quite got going.

“But once we got that third goal today, you could hear the joy and the pride in their team.

“We need to make sure it stays that way.”

Despite suffering his heaviest defeat at MK Dons, Mike Williamson claimed he was pleased by what he saw from his players.

“The scoreline is a difficult one to take, obviously we wanted to come here and build on our points tally,” he said, per miltonkeynes.co.uk. “But I’m proud of the boys. I thought it was a difficult pitch to play on, their goal was against the run of play, but we have to be humble in defeat. We’ve got to make sure we watch it back, and that it improves us.

“The character I saw out there, their willingness, they didn’t let their heads drop. We made a few longer passes than I would have liked, but that’s the nature of the players wanting to change the game, wanting to grab it by the scruff of the neck.

“It’s a hugely disappointing scoreline but the performance, the grit, the spirit, I’m really pleased with.

“I’d prefer to take a 4-0 scoreline, rather than a close game, 71 per cent possession and lose off one mistake. Hopefully, we get all our bad luck in one hit.”
