Manchester United and FC United of Manchester fans are to hold a joint anti-Glazers protest at an upcoming non league fixture
A joint protest is planned against the Glazer family’s ownership of Manchester United, set to take place at at Broadhurst Park.
This event, dubbed “United United Day,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, the home ground of FC United of Manchester, during their match against Stockton Town.
FCUM currently sit 11th in the Northern Premier League – Premier Division (7th tier) with 48 points from 36 games played, 12 points from the playoff places, and 9 points above the drop zone. Stockton meanwhile are 4th with 62 points from 36 games played.
The protest is a collaborative effort between the Manchester United supporters’ group The 1958 and FC United, a club originally formed in 2005 by fans disillusioned with the Glazers’ takeover of Manchester United.
The initiative marks a significant moment of solidarity between the two fanbases, united by their shared frustration with the Glazer family’s management, which has spanned 20 years.
The protest aims to send a strong message that fans of both clubs believe Manchester United deserves better ownership. FC United has publicly expressed support for this cause, stating that the “full impact of 20 years of Glazer misrule is laid bare,” reflecting concerns over financial mismanagement, rising debt, and a perceived decline in the club’s stature.
Fans are encouraged to attend the fixture in a show of unity, with the event being described as a peaceful demonstration to amplify their demand for change.

FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER STATEMENT:
For twenty years, the Glazers have treated Manchester United as a personal cash cow, draining over ÂŁ1 billion from the club while lining their own pockets. The result is a club in disrepair, supporters priced out, and no future under their control.
On Saturday 29th March, FC United of Manchester invites all United supporters to Broadhurst Park for United United Day, where we will come together in solidarity as we face Stockton Town. Together, we will make our voices heard: enough is enough.
FC United was born out of the anger and frustration of Manchester United supporters when the Glazers took over. Since 2005, we’ve never told United fans what they should do—we’ve always been clear that we are an option, a choice. Whether you continue to support Manchester United, or if you’re priced out of Old Trafford, or simply want something different, FC United has always offered an alternative without telling fans how they should act. Many do both—supporting both Manchester United in their own way and FC United as a true alternative.
The high-profile protests at Old Trafford over the last few years have been spearheaded by The 1958 group. In recent weeks, the group, in their attempts to unite the Manchester United fanbase, reached out to us and we have met with them.
In an age where it is all too easy for fans to believe that they are powerless and simply keep their heads down, this group of supporters have continued to stand up and demonstrate their opposition to the Glazer occupation. We are proud to stand united in our shared goal:Â responsible ownership at Manchester United and ensuring that the interests of supporters are put first.
United United Day
On Saturday 29th March, we will be joined by members of The 1958 group, who will bring along their banners and flags to be displayed amongst our own, in a show of the strength of feeling against the ongoing situation at Manchester United.
Before the match, in Course You Can Malcolm, there will be an opportunity to hear from representatives of The 1958 who will give an update on their campaign.
The day will be one of union and solidarity, for all United supporters to come together and make clear that the battle for responsible ownership at Manchester United goes on.
The history of FC United of Manchester is indelibly entwined with that of Manchester United, and we believe all United supporters must come together to achieve the goal of a better future for Manchester United.
FC United of Manchester remains a 100% fan-owned club, offering affordable football with a true community atmosphere. We provide a place for fans to make their own choices, whether they’re priced out of Old Trafford or seeking a different football experience. For 20 years, we’ve stood as an alternative—and that will never change.
Join us on 29th March to show solidarity with The 1958 group and the wider United fanbase.

We Are Stronger United
Manchester United is being strangled by 20 years of the Glazer family’s debts. One of the world’s great sporting institutions is being allowed to wither, and if nothing is done, it will die.
FC United of Manchester was founded in 2005 in direct opposition to the Glazer family’s takeover of Manchester United. At the time, we warned that a corporate raid by absentee owners, driven by greed rather than football, would only end in decline. We take no joy in being proved right.
The effects of their mismanagement and avarice are plain for all to see.
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The club is heading for its worst season on the pitch since 1974;
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Old Trafford, an historic, world-famous stadium, has been completely neglected;
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Ticket prices are rising beyond the reach of ordinary fans;
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Loyal staff are being thrown on the scrapheap;
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The club has been asset-stripped to serve the financial interests of its owners.
All of this is down to the Glazers’ misrule; having taken what was a self-sufficient football club, loading it with debt, and treating it as a personal piggy bank for the last two decades.
The True Cost of the Glazers’ Ownership
Over the course of their ownership, £1.1 billion has been drained from the club in interest payments, dividends, and fees, serving absolutely no benefit to the football club. Despite this, the club’s debt is as high as it has ever been.
Old Trafford has been left to rot while rivals invest in world-class facilities. Leaks, broken seats, and outdated amenities now define the “Theatre of Dreams”.
Mass redundancies of hardworking staff, with reports that one in three employees face the sack while the club prioritises profits over people.
Fan exploitation at an all-time high, with child ticket prices hitting an obscene £66 and talk of £6,000-a-match corporate packages. Long-standing season ticket holders, the club’s lifeblood, are at risk of being forced out.
Safety concerns as away fans are sold tickets in home sections, all in the pursuit of extra revenue, whilst the club attempts to blame innocent fans and strip them of their tickets.
Funding cuts to the Ex-Players’ Association, stripping away support for those who built Manchester United’s legacy.
The Only Language They Understand
For 20 years, Manchester United fans have protested, campaigned, and demanded change. The club has ignored them at every turn. History shows that the only currency the Glazers and their partners understand is money. If fans want real change, they must hit them where it hurts—by withholding their financial support.
FC United of Manchester stands with all fans rising up against this ongoing betrayal of our club.
Football deserves better.
Manchester deserves better.
The fans deserve better.
The Glazers must go

PROTEST ANNOUNCEMENT 3PM BROADHURST PARK FCUM
The 1958 said in post: For too long our fanbase has been divided. It’s time to unite all under a single unified cause. Join us, bring your banners, flags and voices.
We have stated our intent to unify our fractured fanbase across all key groups.
This is not an easy task. It is clear that somebody has to put a line in the sand then step over it. We will take that step.
Recently we met with FC United of Manchester @FCUnitedMcr
We wanted to understand how and why they made the decision to walk away. Share ideas and discussed how we can unify and work together moving forward.
We know there’s a lot of history here. We know what happened 20 years ago. We know that FC United of Manchester is their continued protest against Glazer.
Our meeting was productive, and they are a group of genuine people who have and always will love United.
A group who were forced away on principle by the Glazer ownership over 20 years ago. It is clear ethically we have a lot in common and we believe we should all unite under a common unified cause to fight the greed of Glazer together.
👉 We will attempt to unify fan groups. Even if this takes tough decisions and actions.
👉 We will form a unity charter to outline actions and escalations against Glazer ownership.
👉 Like minded and active groups will add their names to this charter to take action
On the 29th March we will be at Broadhurst Park for the first event of its kind. A joint protest against Glazer ownership as part of FCUM “The United United” day.
Plans are already in motion. We will also be doing a 58 Q&A before the game.
We encourage all United fans to join our unified protest which will be at the Stockton Town game.
Bring your banners. Bring the heat. Bring the noise.
We intend to make a strong statement that we are unifying. That we are mobilising our fanbase for a common goal in solidarity. That there will be more to follow.
Get yourself down there.
Together We Are Empire
