Man Utd’s Nemanja Matic goes full Jose Mourinho in a bizarre row with an Arsenal fan during Saturday afternoon’s Premier League game.
The Red Devils fell to a 3-1 defeat at at the Emirates Stadium to put an end to their Champions League hopes.
The Gunners had early advantage after just three minutes when Nuno Tavares tapped home from close range following some dismal defending by United.
One then became two with Bukayo Saka scoring from his spot kick after being brought down by Alex Telles in the 32nd minute. However, Cristiano Ronaldo halved the deficit two minutes later.
Granit Xhaka then made sure his side would earn all three points with a belting powerful strike in the 70th minute.
Matic seemingly got annoyed at being mocked by Gunners supporters after being substituted in the 77th minute.
The Serbian was captured on camera turning toward the home supporters and gesturing three fingers, which is the number of times he has won the league titles in his career – at Chelsea.
He then made the obvious point that the supporter, sat in the stands, that he had no league titles to his name.
The little heated but comical moment from Matic was met with sarcastic cheers from the Arsenal faithful, who just laughed at the fact they rattled the Man Utd star.
The video has been seen by hundreds of thousands on Twitter, with many drawing comparisons between Matic’s rant and those of Mourinho.

Many will remember the time Mourinho called for ‘respect’ with three fingers held up. After a number of questions from the media, ‘The Chosen One’ finished his press conference saying: “Just to finish, do you know what was the result? 3-0, 3-0.
“Do you know what this means? 3-0, but also means three Premierships and I won more alone than the other 19 managers together. Three for me and two for them. Respect, respect, respect, respect, respect.”
The outburst from a team member at United doesn’t come as a huge shock considering reports of how players have become frustrated and unhappy.
Ralf Rangnick insists Jesse Lingard’s reaction to Saturday’s defeat at Arsenal was “normal” after the player labelled the Manchester United dressing room a “disaster”.
“I had a quick chat with Jesse there,” the Old Trafford legend told DAZN Canada. “I’m sure he won’t mind me saying, the dressing room is just a disaster.” Rangnick was quizzed on Scholes’ comments in his own post-match interview and was eager to play down the significance of Lingard’s alarming revelation.
“I don’t know, you have to ask Jesse Lingard,” Rangnick said. “Obviously, after games like today, there is massive disappointment in the locker room. This is for me normal.” Asked whether it is difficult to drum up enthusiasm among his players, the United interim manager added: “Yes, obviously… it’s not motivate, it’s keeping the energy up.”
“Today was better than Tuesday, an improved performance. We should have scored more goals than we did,” he told BBC Match of the Day.
“We bounced back from a poor start and had numerous chances. He hit the crossbar and the post twice. We had enough chances to get a better result. The one thing we didn’t do well was defending in and around our own box. This has been an issue all season. We should have defended better. The third goal was a clear offside and I do not understand why VAR did not intervene.
“But in possession we created enough chances to get two or even three goals. They [the players] are very disappointed and frustrated. Had we converted the penalty it would have changed the whole game, but we didn’t.”
Social media users reacted as Man Utd’s Nemanja Matic goes full Jose Mourinho in a bizarre row with a Arsenal fan…
@Potman10: State of the Arsenal fans 🤣
@dankura20: Arsenal celebrating going to champions league just to get battered by PSG and Bayern
@SalfordFIFA: This is the first time Arsenal perhaps finishing at 4th, to them it’s like winning Champions league. That’s their standard ha
@vivauniteddd: tears when spurs snatch 4th lmao
@TheFargoFella: Matic is one out of a handful of players in our squad who actually cares about the club and the state it’s left in
@ArtemisPhoenixx: Respect to this man, we wasted his time at the club.
@SR4UTD: Nahh those Arsenal fans had the cheek to banter him when he’s won a prem recently than them.. I’m gonna miss him
@UTDMJ_: Matic has a bigger legacy than Arsenal football club
@ReadItSaidIt: Fanbase waffles on about wanting players who care about the club yet here’s Matic reminding Arsenal fans about how many CLs they’ve won compared to United but apparently he needs to go. Well he is and we are stuck with Billy gilmours backup for Scotland
@gb_afc: This is just too funny lmao. He’s rattled.
@27_DrW: Got a lot of time for this energy if we were winning or he had won a prem with us. But this could be the issue in the changing rooms. Too many in it for them selves.
@SamClacher: Love how everyone boasts about their time at Chelsea after they leave
@chilavertbackup: I see even Matic get flustered by the fans now, Rashford, Ronaldo, pogba and now the most calm and composed out of the lot is on the bench talking back to the fans. The season is over. All the pressures, negativity and expectation got to them. It’s over
@MrJD29: I love it when players finally give the fans back some shit
@jstgy_: Gonna miss Uncle Matic. Player he was definitely not appreciated nearly enough amongst the fan base
