Sky Sports Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling looks unrecognisable giving fans an update on a nasty injury he suffered this weekend.
The much loved Hartlepool supporter took to his social media account showing off a nasty black eye before cracking a joke about heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.
Jeff Stelling has shared a nasty photo of his black eye before jokingly telling fans he is “giving up boxing like Tyson Fury”.
He posted on Sunday morning gruesome-looking bruised eye added with severe purple swelling around his eye and forehead.
His caption read: “Like Tyson Fury I have decided to give up boxing,” coming the day after The Gypsy King revealed he had fought his last ever boxing match. Fury’s shock announcement came immediately after he knocked out Dillian White to defend his WBC world heavyweight title at Wembley.

However, after a huge amount of replies, Stelling later added that he actually sustained the injury after falling over following a “dizzy spell”.
He tweeted: “So I was not drunk and did not walk into anyone’s nose!! Had dizzy spell, next thing I knew I had fallen and smashed head against a door. Not recommended !!”
Jeff Stelling hasn’t been on our screens for over a week now with the presenter taking a short break from Sky Sports duties after confirming on the 18th of April that he had Covid but hoped to be back soon.
He said when asked if he was alright on the 22nd of April that he would be ‘returning next week’, though with an injury like that to his eye and head, we hope the bruising and swelling will ease by the time he’s back on air.
He recently performed a U-turn which they joke about in the studio, announcing he would remain as host of the popular show next season.
The 67-year-old initially said he would stand down last October after seeing the departures of his long-time colleagues from the show, but changed his mind last month and is to stay for at least another season.
Stelling said: “Sky Sports is my home, and the Soccer Saturday team are a big part of my life. As the end of the season approached, and I was preparing to say goodbye, I realised that I was not ready to blow the final whistle and leave the best job in the world.
“I am thrilled to be staying, and excited about moving the show forward and creating more special Saturday afternoons on Sky Sports.”
