Man Utd has took to respond on footage of Marcus Rashford seen in Belfast nightclub before missing training due to an ‘illness’.
Marcus Rashford was seen in the nightclub on Wednesday, with there being a day off from training on Thursday, but ended up missing Manchester United training on Friday as the squad prepares for the FA Cup Fourth Round clash against Newport County which takes place on Sunday evening.
According to the Daily Mail, Rashford was seen at Thompsons Garage nightclub, and a voice can be heard in the clip doing the rounds on social media saying that “you’ll get him into trouble” after he was spotted despite covering his face up.

Rashford through illness? He was out in Belfast last night😂 https://t.co/1IGvJP1S9y pic.twitter.com/qO78BSTQqM

The Man Utd squad only just came back from its winter break, so there was a good chance the club and manager were aware of Rashford’s whereabouts.
It’s alleged that Rashford postponed his flight back having fallen ill after he went out for dinner in Belfast, but then he attended a nightclub afterwards.
He faced backlash from fans who say ‘it’s the best look for a player that is underperforming’.
After missing training on Friday, Rashford is now considered a doubt for Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Newport.
Erik ten Hag said that that Rashford’s absence was down to illness during his press conference: “This morning, Rashford was ill, and Evans was ill,” he said.
“So we have to see how they recover, but we have, for the rest, players returning, like Martinez, like Shaw, like Maguire, like Casemiro, which is a good thing.”
Rashford also visited the training ground of NIFL Premiership side Larne during his trip, where his former United teammate Roshaun Williams plays at.

Mail Sport states that Rashford had gone out on Wednesday before having had a day-off on Thursday.
Chris Wheeler tweeted: “Man Utd believe a video of Marcus Rashford going into a Belfast nightclub was taken on Wed night before a day off yesterday. Rashford missed training today after reporting ill, but no issue apparently #mufc”
Back in October 2023, Rashford went to a Manchester nightclub just hours after suffering a heavy defeat in the Manchester derby, causing irate among the fanbase.
His side suffered a 3-0 defeat by Man City, with Rashford heading to the high-end Manchester nightspot Chinawhite to celebrate his 26th birthday into the early hours.
Ten Hag addressed the matter back then, saying: “I spoke with him about it. It’s unacceptable. He apologised and that is it. For us it’s an internal matter.”
He added: “He [Rashford] is very motivated to put things right. He’s totally with us.
“He has made a mistake but that doesn’t say he’s not fitting in. I see him every day in training, what he’s doing, I know.”

This is what fans are saying as Man Utd respond on Marcus Rashford seen in a Belfast nightclub before missing training with ‘illness’…
@SeanHor70776835: If it was Wednesday all the videos would have came out Wednesday night and yesterday, he missed training because he’s ill from a hangover.
@GreenDevilsPod: Hopefully this is true because it doesn’t look good for him. If he was out in a nightclub the night before training that he missed due to being ill, then he should rightly be dropped and fined
@Nadal_istheGOAT: Why is he clubbing during the week when we’ve got a game this weekend?
@dannyjbradders: Fair enough, I’m not going to get overly as bothered as some will but it’s still not a great look imo. He’s a very highly paid professional footballer playing for probably the most scrutinised club in the world who aren’t playing well, why put yourself in this position?
@azza_utd: Not much better tbh. Still quite irresponsible and breaks ETH’s rules on drinking on a matchweek
@MichaelRealReed: Players going clubbing a few days before the game is weak mentality, had a long break and now “ill” get over it.
@conor_gamble: Can’t believe Rashford was in Thompson’s Garage on a Wednesday night 😂 we will never be a serious club ever again
@tonanesthetic: Rashford “ill” but videos of him out in Belfast on the sauce last night.. 🤔
@PeteMcManus: I disagree. They’ve had a 2 week break in between games and his time to relax and go out was last week. Training or not he should be focused on the game this weekend, not going out in Belfast!
“Let’s all rip into Rashford whenever we can with strange, untrue theories just because he’s not at his best form!!!”
Like that is going to help his confidence, which directly impacts what people aren’t happy with.
An utterly pointless waste of energy and time.

@alphakinnie: I’m not saying you can’t go to clubs, by all means enjoy your life but if you go to club you’re not allowed to fall sick on training day. We can’t even have a consistent team list, every match day with multiple changes that are not just about injuries. How do you win like this?
@d_andradesport: I like Rashford but I don’t understand how a professional football can be well enough to go out partying, then be so ill he can’t train two days later. We seem to have a lot of players with illnesses. It’s either a problem that needs to be investigated orr they’re being soft.
@RyanJ689908: Does that make it any better ? We’ve got a game on Sunday and our 300k a week striker who has been abysmal was out on the piss in the midweek, day off or not?
@ANON_FT1: He went on a night out 2 days before pulling a sickie? Even in a basic office job they would be suspicious
@aland147: Absolutely tosh. There is no need to be in a nightclub during a match week, day off or not. He a professional footballer earning millions. He needs to act professional on and off the pitch. No excuses.
@uggy7: Why does it seem no other clubs have as many players missing games through illness?
@RooVanMataZaj: It’s still a bad look – he’s been abysmal this season, his attitude even worse but I’m supposed to believe going on the p*ss in Belfast then failing to report to training “ill” two days later is perfectly normal behaviour. He’s our highest earner – it’s how it works.
@AaronMontMUFC: There’s literally a video of him in Thompsons nightclub with a bouncer saying “stop recording you’ll get him in trouble” 😂😂
@ftbIdxniel: No way Rashford was on the sesh on Belfast then missed training. What a mess😂😂
@ItsBuadi: The thing that’s annoying about the Rashford video is the fact that someone said “you’ll get him into trouble”. Why are you or your team allowing him to be out in Belfast when he’s got a game?
@R_K_Sports: Rashford out in Belfast last night drinking and now not training today because he’s “ill”. I’m all for lads having the craic and a few pints. Highly encourage it tbh. But this lads attitude has been septic all year. Best for all sides that we cut ties in June.
@JRB31121: Wednesday, Thursday, still not a good look Cup game at the weekend and then going out midweek, you get paid literally Millions to ‘train and play’ at your club and can’t keep out of trouble on a Match week
Hmm really? You’d think multi millionaire Marcus Rashford might have a change of clothes between Wednesday night & Thursday daytime if that was the case … pic.twitter.com/yFkedYblLd

Hilarious line from the club icl. Wearing the same clothes he wore to Larne FC Academy yesterday morning. The video is from last night.
