Man Utd fans interrupt Roy Keane live on TV to shout abuse at England game

Man Utd fans decided to interrupt Roy Keane live on TV to shout Ole Gunnar Solskjaer abuse in Friday night’s England game at Wembley.

They could be heard shouting ‘Ole out’ towards the Red Devils legend, who was a pundit as the Three Lions stormed to a 5-0 win against Albania.

England cruised through the first half thanks to a Harry Kane hat-trick to put Gareth Southgate’s side one point away from World Cup qualification with San Marino the next opponents.

But even the international break hasn’t stopped Manchester United fans from voicing their opinions about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian is under significant pressure at Old Trafford after a poor run of form including big defeats to Liverpool and Man City in recent weeks.

And some United fans could be heard shouting “Roy! Ole out,” towards Roy Keane, which is caught and heard by viewers during the broadcast on ITV.

Poor form has left some disgruntled United fans to start protesting against their current gaffer.

United have slumped to sixth this season, and while, on paper, that doesn’t seem too bad, the Red Devils are only three points ahead of 13th placed Southampton.

There was only one United player in England’s starting side against Albania, Harry Maguire, and boy did Roy make digs at him.

And Maguire opened the scoring when he nodded England ahead within the first 10 minutes, but he celebrated by cupping his ears.

Keane branded Maguire’s celebration as ’embarrassing’, saying: “He thinks he’s shutting the critics up. But I think It’s embarrassing.

“He’s been a disgrace the last couple of months for Man Utd. He thinks if he scores there, he’s going to shut his critics up. Embarrassing.”

Maguire, speaking after the game, was adamant his gesture was not aimed at anyone in particular.

He told Sky Sports News: “It was a great ball from Reece. We’d worked on it, we knew the areas we could exploit and credit to all the staff for doing that. I managed to direct the header into the far post and I think when you play these games, the first goal is crucial and it comes quite a lot from set-plays. We knew we’d get a lot of set-plays and we had to be clinical with them.

“The celebration was a knee slide, it just came naturally to me. It’s an amazing feeling to score for my country. It wasn’t directed at anyone, it just came naturally to do that and open the scoring for England and get the important three points.”

Reflecting on the game, Southgate said: “The first half was fantastic, as well as we’ve played for a long time. It’s always difficult to maintain that when you’re so far ahead, there’s so much adrenaline just before half-time. We were still professional in the second half, but unfortunately we couldn’t give the crowd more goals.

“I think we’re best when we have an edge. We didn’t produce what we should against Hungary and we wanted to put that right. We had a game tonight to put us on the verge of qualification for a World Cup, it’s as simple as that.

“Tonight we were too athletic, too strong and our quality with the ball in the first half – bar two or three errors which could have been more costly – the first half was very good football. We were very composed playing through pressure of the opponents and we were creative in the final third. We created more chances than we scored.

The victory comes amid news of a reported new two-year contract for Southgate, although the manager gave little away as to whether an announcement was imminent.

He told ITV: “We need a point. We’re not done and it would be wrong for my attention to be anywhere else but that. My job is to get this team into a World Cup and then we can look at everything else after that.

“It’s an irrelevance for me. I’m under contract, I’m not out of contract and I’m very well supported here, I’ve said that all along. My focus is just getting this qualification done and everything else can wait.”

When asked by Sky Sports News if he was still enjoying being manager of England, Southgate said: “Absolutely. We’ve got some fabulous players to work with and we’re a competitive team. Those opportunities in life don’t come around too often so I’m hugely proud to do the job and I’m massively proud of the performance tonight.”

@tomas_dorey: Some fans shouting Ole Out to Roy Keane on ITV 🤣🤣🤣

@DonMarcos53: Nice one fellas

@20unitedBG: Incredible, I’ve heard the glazers sacked Ole because of this! Great work team!!!!!!

@Ck94Red: Have to agree with Keano here. He’s deserved the criticism this season, some of his defending has been Albania level. That goal doesn’t change that, or that he’s rarely scored those headers for club, barely scoring more headers than AM9 in the same time frame

@jackcaird: absolutely spot on from Roy Keane. what the fuck is that celebration. Manchester United have a squad of men acting like kids. Minter

@RobJeffries: Something tells me Roy Keane is going to punch some lads at Wembley with those Ole Out shouts…

@FPLdepression: TV companies talk a big game about mental health but will happily employ and promote someone who goes out of his way to just be a cunt 🤷‍♂️ And yes, scoring a goal vs Albania doesn’t silence criticise of Man U defending. But why are you so salty about it Roy?

@pau1luvsutd: Opinions of @ManUtd supporters don’t matter to Glazers, this season and next if Ole stays any longer, he is a disgrace of a manager #OleOutNow #GlazersOut

@Staymadho3: We can’t stress enough how much we want this virus to leave our club. Glazers are a problem but their puppet needs to go NOW #OleOut

@Gerry_Deakin: Are you listening yet, @ManUtd? #OleOut

@JABoates: Roy is never impressed with anything though he’s the most negative person 😂

@5pur5y: This is true, but it’s not like it isn’t a valid point. He’s like where are all my critics now? After scoring a perfectly supplied sitter, not being tracked… against Albania. I’d take that celebration into the most elite football league in the world and see if it holds up.
