A man has incredibly turned a run down park field that was used to dump burned-out cars into what we think is a Premier League quality football pitch, and all out of his own money.
That man is Pete Davies, he spent £16,000 of his own money to do up what is the ground of Splott Albion which is used by 13 teams men and women it’s claimed.
Check out what it looked like before, photos taken by the groundsman himself, where it was also featured in WalesOnline…
He said: “It was a bombsite, There was a burnt out car, illegal bikes were riding over and ruining the pitch. It was a shithole, to be honest.
“All the staff at the club were annoyed as the council weren’t helping so I decided to help out.”
This is what he turned the dismal looking ground into…

Bring on the new season ?⚽️

He added: “I purchased the machinery myself along with all the equipment.
“It’s a lot of money but I enjoy helping others and I wanted to give back to the community. Since the work has been done on the pitch, a lot of younger people from the area attend football games, they keep off the pitch, more people want to be involved in the work.
“We have achieved so much in three years, imagine what we can do in another two years.
“If the club can get floodlights it will totally transform the club.”
After checking out the superb transformation at Splott Albion, fans, players and clubs took to give their stunned reaction – find out what they had to say on the next page.
