Man City fans’ celebrations mocked; Supporter slams ‘tourists’ trying to make him sit down

Man City fans’ celebrations have been mocked; and one supporter slams ‘tourists’ trying to make him sit down during the UCL final.

Many clips from the 2023 Champions League final are doing the rounds online, but it’s a certain few that have caught social media users’ attention.

The first was footage uploaded by PostUnited, with Football Away Days sharing it with the caption: “Manchester City fans celebrate the moment they win the Champions League!”

Manchester City fans celebrate winning the Champions League for the first time ever in their club’s history.

Rodri’s stunning goal with 22 minutes remaining ensured Pep Guardiola’s team defeated Inter Milan on Saturday night.

Ederson made a series miraculous saves in order to keep the clean sheet, and watch Ilkay Gundogan be the first to lift the trophy at Ataturk Stadium.

Players eventually jumped the hoardings and joined them in the celebration with fans chanting ‘We Are The Champions!’ in both the stadium and pubs in Manchester.

One City fan was getting told off it seems by those around him however… for standing up.

Man City Tickets @Ticketmancity“Seems one of the videos before has got a bit of traction. 100% stand by it. Bellends sat down at a CL final. Wouldn’t mind but there was actual city fans there telling me to sit down. It won’t overshadow the day though. Absolutely top class trip. 3 peat treble.”

Here’s what Twitter users said with Man City fans’ celebrations mocked and a supporter slams ‘tourists’ trying to make him sit down…

@Goalkeepersofn1: Thought the celebrations were very calm compared to westhams looks like city fans are to used to winning 😂😂😂😂

@Rangers_Spares_: Seen a better atmosphere at a funeral

@Redandblack999: My team, St.Mirren, scored last minute winner against Livingston in a middle of the table clash this season. Three points grasped at the death. I partied so hard, all I can remember was going to sleep in Paisley on Saturday night and waking up in Brussels. That’s the difference.

@JimmyRamBelieve: A clear example why that old school buzz is dead and buried when money takes over – it spoils people – and the passion dies – it happens in all walks of life – and happens to players a lot as well. Glad I experienced football in the 70s 80s and early 90s – it touched the depths.

@JPalldino: I feel bad for the older fanbase who’ve been thru it all and now have to deal with bandwagoners who don’t understand what this means

@eastlancsKopite: Become everything you hated…. Enjoy it

@LutonReport: you’re in Turkey?? what do you expect, YOU’RE the tourist

@zach_inwood: This is grim, geezer in the green shirt is the only one properly enjoying the moment

@MikeEd81: If it wasn’t for them the gaff would be full of empty seats..

@SamMufc7: Aren’t you also a tourist unless you’re Turkish? 😂

@TonyTTGriffiths: I celebrate more when I finish work on a Friday!!

@urubuclube: LOL money canta buy real fans

@gIaikit: The pilot who landed the last Ryanair flight I was on got a bigger round of applause than that

@thetchuck: What a plastic crowd wow. First time reaching the highest honor in European football, and they celebrate like it was some Sunday league title… how sad.

@ViolinistadaLuz: What a shame of a club. First time European Champions in their history and they react like they’ve won a sunday league match. Does not deserve the success they’re having. A club with more relegations than english championships… United Arab Emirates won the CL, not City…

@TnsCov: I’ve seen bigger celebrations for consolation goals in a 6-1 drubbing wtf is that

@Mattpie95: Hope no one was hurt

@RedWoodyLFC: I’ve had a bigger celebration after a long dump 💩

@MarkAWaterhouse: More excited when my first ball comes out in the lottery

@mrmiddle09: Blimey I celebrate more when my takeaway arrives

@Jarvalho111: Reckon the bloke in green is a proper fan, the others look like they’ve just seen that their favourite film is on tonight

@ErlingEuphoria: The whole side behind the goals were standing up shame for him tbh

@CalvinAddison93: His seat, his space. Do as he pleases. Who’s sitting down in a champions league final anyway?

@beanie59186661: He’s in the right and give him credit @Ticketmancity

@ThatGuyAkshay: Football isn’t about sitting down and staying silent, waiting to be entertained. It isn’t the opera. It is a place where people converge to passionately and fervently supporters their team.

@lcfccyruss: Fairs, the guy who supports the club, is in the right, a game like that, I wouldn’t be able to sit down, those tourists shouldn’t be nowhere near that final, should let the real fans go and watch it
