Man Utd’s Brandon Williams aims a bitter dig at Man City and also calls out Rio Ferdinand via the player’s Instagram stories.

City defeated Inter Milan in the Champions League Final in Istanbul by a single goal, capping off one of the greatest seasons in their history.

After winning the Premier League and FA Cup titles, this was the last piece to complete a prestigious triple, and that’s exactly what City did, becoming the first team to achieve this feat since United, who achieved it in 1999 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Brandon Williams reminded their local rivals of their success on social media.

The 22-year-old took to Insta after seeing the former defender compliment City.: “@rioferdy5 Bet you don’t congratulate if you was player keeep the same morals. [Snoozing face emoji] too face is boring.”

He continued in subsequent posts: “You don’t praise simple as. Fakessssssssss for [money emoji].

“Attention on this than celebrating [laughing emojis]. Drawnnnnmmmm (nibbleeeee).”

The defender referred to Man Utd’s treble winning side from 24 years ago, amid a debate about which team is better.

Ferguson’s side had the likes of like David Beckham, Roy Keane and Ryan Giggs. And Williams didn’t stop there as he posted a further Instagram post, calling out Ferdinand, who was working for BT Sport in Istanbul.

Pep Guardiola’s team put on an impressive show in this campaign, completing the treble despite being behind Arsenal in the Premier League for much of the season.

City overtook the Gunners with their fine winning form helped by a late-year collapse from Arsenal.

United had a chance themselves to end City’s hopes of a treble when they faced them in the FA Cup Final.

Two excellent Ilkay Gundogan goals however made sure there was no slip up from City.

The biggest prize was yet to come, as Inter Milan faced them in the Champions League Final on Saturday, and it was Rodri who was the surprise hero.

Ederson was also crucial after some important late saves, as Inter went down fighting, but in truth this City side deserved the trophy.
