Luis Enrique Out of Running for Chelsea Job – Who’s Left?

It was recently reported in the media that Luis Enrique was snubbed by Chelsea, which means that he’s out of the running to be Chelsea’s next manager. However, it’s not clear how true these stories are.

The likely candidates that could potentially become the next Chelsea manager and replace interim manager Frank Lampard are revealed on this page. We have also included the latest average odds for who could join Chelsea on a permanent basis.

Which person is most likely to be the next Chelsea manager?

Over the past few weeks, more than ten people’s names have been mentioned as becoming the next Chelsea manager, so it’s hard to say who might be awarded the job.

To better understand who the most likely person will be to take control of the reins, the best thing to do would be to find out the latest odds.

For example, the odds-on favourite to win the job is Julian Nagelsmann. He was recently sacked by the league leaders in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich.

He is currently priced at around 13/8 in the UK fractional odds format. This is the same as saying 163 (American/moneyline odds) or 2.63 (European decimal odds).

It also means that Nagelsmann has a 38.10% implied probability rate of being the next person to manage Chelsea. One of the most trusted sites you can turn to for the latest Premier League odds is the official 32red sportsbook

Who else is in the running?

Here are nine other people who could also potentially get the job:

  • Mauricio Pchettino – 3/1 (4.00 or 300) = 25.00% implied probability rate
  • Luis Enrique – 3/1 (4.00 or 300) = 25.00% implied probability rate
  • Frank Lampard – 10/1 (11.00 or 1,000) = 9.10% implied probability rate
  • Marcelo Gallardo – 14/1 (15.00 or 1,400) = 6.7% implied probability rate
  • Jose Mourinho – 16/1 (17.00 or 1,600) = 5.90% implied probability rate
  • Brendan Rodgers – 19/1 (20.00 or 1,900) = 5.00% implied probability rate
  • Zinedine Zidane – 22/1 (24.00 or 2,200) = 4.30% implied probability rate
  • Diego Simeone – 22/1 (24.00 or 2,200) = 4.30% implied probability rate
  • John Terry – 22/1 (24.00 or 2,200) = 4.30% implied probability rate
  • Ruben Amorim 22/1 (24.00 or 2,200) = 4.30% implied probability rate

Chelsea could end up going with someone completely different who today’s major bookies haven’t even considered. We will just have to wait and see.

Where are Chelsea in the league right now?

Things aren’t looking good for Chelsea right now. They are currently in 11th place in the Premier League with only seven games remaining. They have played 31 games, won 10, drawn 9, and lost 12, and they have scored 30 and let in 33, which means they gave a -3 goal difference.

Upcoming fixtures

In their remaining games, they are at home to Brentford on Wednesday, April 26th. On Tuesday, May 2nd, they travel away to play league leaders Arsenal, and then on May 6th, they are away to Bournemouth.

On May 13th, they play host to Nottingham Forrest before travelling away to play second-place (and UEFA Champions League semi-finalists) Manchester City on May 21st. Other teams they face in upcoming fixtures are Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham.

Can Chelsea finish in the top four?

It’s almost impossible for Chelsea to finish in the top four at the end of the season unless they miraculously win each game by about 5-0 or more. They would also need all other teams above them to lose their remaining games by a similar scoreline each week from now until the end of the season.

A much safer bet (but not guaranteed) would be for Chelsea to finish in the top 10.
