Our live stream ahead of Sundays Premier League Match, Leicester vs Brighton is now up and running, kicking off at 19.15 GMT
You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more…
Leicester City hosted AEK Athens on Thursday night in a Europa League match that they won 2-0. The Foxes knew a victory would wrap up top spot ahead of Braga in the final group game, and the job was all but secured inside a quarter of an hour at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City also come into the game having beaten Sheffield United 2-1 in their last Premier League outing. The win moved them into the top four, three points off top placed Tottenham and a win against Brighton would ensure they stay there, for now.
Brighton come into the game off the back of a disappointing defeat at the hands of Southampton. A late, controversial VAR decision gave the Saints the penalty they needed to secure the victory, with Danny Ings taking the spot kick.
Sitting in 16th position, the Seagulls will be looking to bounce back after their first defeat in four games.
Leicester and Brighton last met in June, battling out a 0-0 stalemate at the King Power Stadium…
PRESS CONFERENCE:
Brendan Rodgers
Injury latest?
“James has just finished training and was brilliant. Castagne will just miss out but we will see where he is for midweek. Cags is not too far away. Amartey is back in training and has trained very well. It’s going to be a process with him. Ricardo is a bit further behind. You’re probably looking at another couple of weeks for him.”
Europa League?
“It’s the first objective. We went through the group on top, which was the aim. With what the players have had to cope with, it’s very good. The draw is exciting and we’re looking forward to that. Hopefully come February we will have a fully-fit squad.”
Evans contract?
“I’m fairly confident. Jonny wants to be here. He’s instrumental in what I do. He’s a coach for me on the field. He’s got a great football brain and understands the journey of where we’re trying to get to.
His value to myself and the team is huge and he knows we want him here. I think we’ll be pretty close to a deal. He wants to be here. We move to the new training ground which will be really exciting. Hopefully we can move forward on this deal and that will be complete soon.”
Tielemans’ agent?
“You see these stories around this time. Agents are warming up. He’s a very talented player and has been fantastic for us. I’ll continue to help him as a player. He’s great to work with.
He prepares his life to be the best he can be. Whatever happens beyond that, I’m not interested in. He’s enjoying his football.”
Young players in Europe?
“It’s very important, because those experiences help you. You know what you’re up against domestically, but in Europe you’re playing against different styles and they’re normally come in with confidence because they’re used to winning. I put the pressure last night.
We wanted that to be a must-win game. You saw the bravery in the game and we got the job done. Players like Luke, Hamza, Harvey, James, they’re playing their first European campaign.”
Getting the best out of Vardy?
“It’s letting the player know you believe in them. He was a player I was really looking forward to working with. We have an aggressive game, and we want to get the ball forward as quickly as we can.
He understands what I want, he’s competitive in his brain, and we play to the qualities of one of the best strikers in Europe. We have to give him service and when we do that, there’s not many better.
I’m grateful that he’s here. He’s very similar to Suarez in a way. When he’s away on goal, you don’t think anything other than goal. He’s got that ruthlessness.”
Worried about Vardy’s drop-off?
“I don’t worry about it so much at the minute. It does come. Age catches up with you. You see the speed in his game, that’s not disappearing. But even then you know he will still score goals.
He looks after his body. I have to manage his games, so that he’s fit and fresh. He understands that, he gets that. I don’t worry because I’ve seen the speed and hunger he still has.”
Late goals?
“Mentality, the physicality of the team is good. We start quick and finish strong, and we go right to the very end. It’s a nice trait to have. You’ve got to hang in there in games. You have to go right to the very end.”
Praet?
“He’s a wonderful footballer. He’s an international player. I’ve talked about adaptability and he has that. He was unfortunate not to score if Cengo put a bit more pace on it.
He works tirelessly for the team, tactically like the Belgium boys are very good. He’s non-stop. It’s one where you can only pick 11 players.”
New training ground?
“I’m looking forward to the time when you guys can see it because you will be in awe of it. It’s one of the best in the world. It’s a great investment by the club. There’s been no expense spared.
There’s no excuse for any player. You need the environment. There’s not excuse for any player not to get better if they want to because it has everything. It will be absolutely pivotal to how we function going forward. It’s a real privilege to move in there in a couple of weeks.”
Under?
“He’s getting fitter all of the time. He’s adapting to how we play and to the Premier League. You’ve got to be constantly concentrating. He’s getting better. He has a wand of a left foot. The power he generates, we see that on a daily basis.”
Brighton?
“They’re a team I’ve been really impressed with. They’re a fantastic club. Even the games they’ve lost, they’ve been very close. It will be a difficult game for us.”
Defensive record?
“We’ve had to find a way to win while maintaining our style. Castagne has missed nine games, Cags has been out, Evans has been out, Ricardo. Everything for us is about the collective.
Fundamentally, you have to be able to defend. We’ve been unfortunate. Set-pieces we’ve not been so good, and I’m putting a lot of that down to the profile of the players we have missing.”
Vardy’s corner flag gesture?
“I think with Jamie it was unfortunate. He’s taken his celebration out on the corner flag and there was no one more surprised when it broke. He’s a very generous man. He gets a chance to celebrate a lot because he scores so much.”

THATSAGOAL TIP:
Wesley Fofana Anytime Goalscorer – 14/1 with FanTeam
For anyone looking for a speculative selection, here it is. Leicester’s new signing, Wesley Fofana, has settled in magnificently and looks like an excellent purchase for their defensive line. The Frenchman came very close to scoring when he hit the crossbar for the Foxes but gave a glimpse of his aerial prowess nonetheless.
Brighton have one of the lowest expected goals against in the league yet have conceded as many as bottom side Sheffield United. One reason for this is their inability to defend set-pieces thus far. If this continues against Leicester, then Fofana is a strong candidate to get on the scoresheet at long odds of 14/1.
