Leeds United took to troll Aston Villa on social media over the controversial Sheffield United incident Wednesday evening.
The struggling West Midlands side ended up getting very lucky after a technology error denied their opposition a 1-0 win at Villa Park.
Oliver Norwood’s free-kick was carried over the line by Orjan Nyland after bumping into team-mate Keinan Davis.

The Blades came away with a 0-0 draw after the incident failed, in what was the top flight’s first game for three months.
There is no doubt about it that Aston Villa knew it was a goal, especially Nyland, judging by the Norwegian’s face.
So Leeds were pondering why Dean Smith’s side did not go on to let Sheffield United score as an act of fairplay.

It comes after Leeds allowed them to score a goal in a Championship game last season. Mateusz Klich scored for Leeds despite Aston Villa stopping play due to an injury to striker Jonathan Kodjia.
Marcelo Bielsa was given the FIFA Fairplay Award for his decision to let them freely score.
Klich also posted on Wednesday night, sharing a picture of captain Liam Cooper and fitness coach Benoit Delaval picking up award last November.

After the game, Dean Smith told Sky Sports that enough VAR decisions had gone against Villa this season to suggest they should have let Sheffield United score.
Villa were hard done by against Watford, Tottenham, and Leicester City this season.
#avfc Dean Smith tells me in post match -at no stage did he consider ordering his players to allow #sufc to score unopposed, and he’s sure Chris Wilder wouldn’t have done either. Says Villa have had enough VAR decisions go against them this season to have deserved that one. #ssn

Covering the clash for Sky Sports, Jamie Redknapp said referee Michael Oliver’s watch indicated for a goal at half-time:
“We don’t know how true it is but we’ve heard that the referee said it said goal when he was in the dressing room.
“It’s incredibly lucky (for Villa). We often talk about goal-line technology being perfect but it certainly wasn’t here, it went missing.
“It’s a really spiteful ball in from Oli Norwood, very difficult to deal with. Nyland never looks comfortable for one second when it’s come in, he loses it for a second, then gets hold of it, and pushes it into his own goal.”
Chris Wilder raged too, saying: “The statement’s come out, unprecedented, unbelievable. That’s the balance.
We were waiting for somebody, I don’t know who it was at Stockley Park, to show a bit of courage, stick their chest out and say I’ll make that decision. But if they say they haven’t seen it, and seven cameras haven’t seen it, I suppose he’s going to say he can’t make that decision.

“I think we all had the feel, both sets of players, fans and staff, I think even speaking to the referee and the fourth official, I think we all had the feel of a goal.
You listen to the statement that’s been given by Hawk-Eye, my issue is one of frustration, seven cameras haven’t picked it up, the most technical league in the world, video analysis and everything we see at every angle hasn’t seen a goal. That’s disappointing from our point of view.
“We went to Tottenham last year, it’s nothing really to do with the timing, John Lundstram’s big toe was offside, and I’m hanging around in the pouring rain at White Hart Lane for 10 minutes for a decision.
So I don’t know why I couldn’t have waited around for another 10 minutes in Birmingham in the rain for another decision.
“We’ve got Chris Kavanagh, one of the best refs in the Premier League, and Michael Oliver, one of the best refs in Europe. If you asked them tonight they’ll be scratching their heads.
“I’ve got to say I feel really sorry for the two main actors in it; Michael Oliver and Chris Kavanagh. We believed it should have been referred, and that’s what we were asking for, a referral.
“The goalkeeper was in the Holte End! He was about eight rows back! He would have been mullered by punters if they were there, he was in the Holte End! Everyone saw it, all 300 of us!
“This is a decision that can’t happen. If someone had the courage to make that decision at Stockley Park, I think that should be made, but it wasn’t.”

I mean, surely a man with the integrity of dean Smith would’ve allowed Sheffield United to walk a goal in.#fairplay#deansmithisacunt
