This season’s League Two Playoff Final tie is now confirmed after Tranmere came out on top and beat opponents Forest Green to book at place at Wembley later this month.
Forest Green got themselves ahead after 12 minutes when Joseph Mills got away from his marker to head past Scott Davies and make it 1-1 on aggregate.

The weren’t in-front for too long however as halfway through the first half, James Norwood volleyed in a Tranmere equaliser to restore a one-goal aggregate lead.

No more goals could be found in the second half, however Forest Green went down to ten men with just over 20 minutes remaining as Carl Winchester was sent off for receiving a second yellow when tangling legs with goal scorer James Norwood.
Tranmere won 2-1 on aggregate and will face Newport County in Wembley final on the 25th of May.

“The way the last game went we had a lot of chances, I had a lot of chances, and we knew we’d be under pressure
“We defended for our lives and the lads were brilliant
(On his goal) “I owed it to the lads after the first leg.
“I’d like to see our stats after this because we worked so hard.”
