Latest new kits from Premier League, EFL and non league clubs for 2022/23 – 30th June

We take a look at the latest newly unveiled kits from English clubs for the 2022/23 season, and the majority of them have gone down well.

The 2021/22 campaign is over and done with, so now their attention can only turn to the next one, and with clubs still needing cash to boost their finances to make up for the last few seasons, now is the perfect time to release them to supporters, plus with the start date earlier than usual in mind.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve come across a variety of kits, some looking rather nice, though others haven’t proved popular, and then you have you just plain average bunch. Take a look at the latest collection to be launched below over the next few pages, you can have your say on them too via our polls for each one…

CHARLTON HOME KIT:

Charlton Athletic have revealed their brand new Castore home kit for the 2022/23 season.

The Addicks and premium sportswear brand Castore agreed a multi-year deal in May and the 2022/23 home strip is the first to be revealed as part of the new partnership.

The new red home shirt features a diamond graphic based on the popular ‘Woolwich’ shirt worn during the 1991/92 season and is complemented by a stylised black and white striped, ribbed collar with a v-neck design and an enlarged striped, ribbed cuff to match.

For the first time, RSK sits proudly on the front of the shirt, while University of Greenwich appears on the back. Meanwhile, the letters ‘UTA’ appear on the back of the neck, which represents ‘Up the Addicks’.

The shirt is paired with white shorts which include two black stripes down either side along with Castore’s winged logo appearing in red.

Finally, the kit is completed by red socks with black and white hooping to match the shirt’s detailing, with Castore’s logo branded on the calf.

NORWICH HOME KIT

Norwich City has launched its new Joma home kit for the 2022/23 season, which is available to order now.

Inspired by the 1980s era of football kits, this season’s strip is a modern classic.

This season’s shirt features a sublimated pin-stripe design with yellow and green V-neck collar and sleeve trim detailing. The shirt also features our new club crest for the first time in a high-definition woven badge and the shirt fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester.

For the first time, supporters will be able to personalise their shirt with our new bespoke font, Norwich Weave, which will be worn by City players in the FA Cup and selected pre-season games. This is currently only available online, but will be available in-store over the coming weeks.

“Today’s an exciting day as we release our new home kit for the 2022/23 season, which draws inspiration from the 80s but with a modern spin,” said Sam Jeffery, commercial director at Norwich City.

“One of the key reasons we partnered with Joma was to ensure the club retained creative control and to allow us the freedom to deliver bespoke designs, and tailor our launches accordingly.

“We’re excited to see these shirts adorn our players and fans alike throughout the 2022/23 season.”

The home kit will be available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes.

BIRMINGHAM HOME KIT

A navy graphic print that runs across the front and lower back body panels is accompanied by white ribbed sleeve and neck trims to provide comfort in a locked-in style.

Made with the latest Nike Dri-FIT materials, the shirt is produced to move sweat away from your skin for quicker evaporation, keeping you dry and comfortable, whilst a mesh back panel offers lightweight breathability.

The shirt will be worn with matching royal blue shorts and traditional white socks, a repeat of the combination worn 20-years ago when Blues embarked on their first season in the Premiership and in the 2008/09 campaign when promotion back to the top flight was achieved.

PLYMOUTH HOME KIT

The Greens’ stylish 22/23 home kit has been revealed, and will be on sale in-store and online soon.

The unique design celebrates our city’s rich and proud history in the fabric pattern.

The four towers, present throughout the shirt, are a nod to Plymouth Castle, the historic inspiration for the city’s Coat of Arms, as well as early versions of the Argyle club crest throughout history – stretching back as far as 1911 through to its most recent appearance in 1964.

The home shirt combines the club’s distinctive contemporary green colour with striking white sleeves, shorts, and matching Project 35 logo – raising awareness for Argyle and Ginsters’ innovative campaign to fight poverty in the city.

Shirts, shorts and socks will be available to purchase online and direct at the Argyle Superstore. Adult shirt sizes range from Small to 5XL, while children’s sizes are also available.

COVENTRY CITY AWAY KIT

The new Hummel away kit will be available to pre-order from 4pm on Thursday 30th June at www.ccfcstore.com

The new away shirt is completely bespoke to Coventry City, after the Club has worked closely with Hummel on another unique and iconic kit design.

This season’s away kit is based on the away shirt of the 1995/96 Premier League season, seeing a return of a purple striped shirt with thin yellow lines.

The purple stripes are created using three different bespoke remakes of stained-glass panels from City’s iconic Cathedral, which celebrates 60 years since its consecration this year.

The famous Hummel chevrons are also in yellow on each sleeve, while, unlike the 90s shirt, there is a round neck collar in dark purple and yellow.

The shorts are also dark purple with Hummel chevrons on the side, while socks are light purple with yellow chevrons and a dark purple trim.

Inside the neck, the words ‘You Want A Cathedral’ are printed – words from the song ‘In Our Coventry Homes’, often sung by Sky Blues supporters.

COVENTRY GOALKEEPER KIT AWAY>

The new Hummel away goalkeeper kit will be available to pre-order from Midday on Thursday 30th June at www.ccfcstore.com

The new away goalkeeper shirt is completely bespoke to Coventry City, after the Club has worked closely with Hummel on another unique and iconic kit design.

This season’s away goalkeeper kit, like other kits for this season, takes inspiration from Coventry’s famous Cathedral, which is celebrating 60 years since its consecration.

An enlarged section from a stained-glass window of Coventry Cathedral is used on the sleeves of the shirt to create a striking and unique geometric pattern, while using the colours from the Cathedral’s iconic Baptistry Window.

The front and back of the shirt is black, while the famous Hummel chevrons are in white on each sleeve.

SOUTHAMPTON HOME KIT

A true statement piece, the new home shirt draws inspiration from those worn by the flamboyant and free-flowing Saints side of the early ’80s. Reversing the colours of the shirt first worn by trailblazers like Kevin Keegan, Alan Ball and Charlie George, the striking central red stripe and central badge mark a brave new direction for the club.

Bravery forms a core part of who we are, wanting to always push the boundaries, challenge the convention and continuously innovate.

With this season’s bold kit, we are celebrating bravery both on and off the pitch. We’ve taken inspiration from the single bold red stripe, wanting to inspire our fans to be brave, whatever their challenge is – just as our players seek to be brave on the pitch.

Further subtle detail is reflected in the contemporary geometric pattern taken from the iconic stanchions of St Mary’s, and the central badge stands this kit apart from previous seasons. The sleeves are complemented with two chevrons, taken from hummel’s iconic design trademark, and have been inspired by their retro kits. The inside neckline also features the hummel logo.

FOREST GREEN KITS

As preparations step up ahead of 2022/23 campaign, we’re excited to reveal the new designs for our PlayerLayer away and third kit.

We’ll be making our debut in League One and the SWWFL with the pink and black ‘electrified’ stripes away shirt – as modelled by Dom Bernard, Hattie Jones and Sam Morris. It is sponsored by our principal partner Ecotricity and features mobility app Bolt on the back of the shirt with Oatly on the shorts.

Inspired by Sea Shepherd’s retired flagship vessel ‘Steve Irwin’, the third choice kit features our charity partner as front of shirt sponsor – and proceeds from the sale of the strip will be donated to the marine conservation charity.

Our iconic home kit from the title winning season will be the same for 2022/23, modelled by defender Jordan Moore-Taylor, and continues to be made from recycled coffee grounds and also features Bolt and Oatly.
