Jermaine Jenas makes claims there was ‘thirst for blood’ after his GMB interview

Jermaine Jenas hits back and makes claims there was a ‘thirst for blood’ after his GMB interview on Friday morning.

The 43 year old has previously admitted to the past terrible inappropriate mistakes of his and issued an apology for his behaviour in interviews he has appeared in since his dismissal from the BBC due to allegations of inappropriate conduct involving explicit messages sent to female colleagues.

Jenas said in an interview with talkSPORT that he is to learn from it and come back as a “better person”, issuing a public apology, including to those directly affected by his actions.

Before his GMB appearance, he said via Instagram: “So I thought I’d just check in with you. As I did say, I was going to be documenting kind of things I’m going through, things that are popping up.

“And the last time we spoke, was around the appearance on national television, which I’ve decided to do.

“On my way over to London to come on to the show tomorrow. And I just wanted to just give you some of my thoughts.

“Obviously, there’s some nerves there, not because I’m concerned about sitting down and talking to people. I’m more than comfortable to do that.

“It’s just how things can get spun. I really want the conversation to be nudged in the right direction now and to be looking forward.

“And these tests, they tend to come along when you’re going through these phases in your life.

“And I think the easy decision would have been to say no and just kind of not going to hide in, but just kind of not give myself the stress of it all.

“But it feels like it’s a good time to get back out there, have a conversation, test myself and move, like I said, things forward in my life. So I’m looking forward to it.

“I’m a little bit apprehensive as well at the same time. But like I said, I think these are all parts of the process of things that you tend to go through when you’re trying to kind of rebuild your life and you’ve got to face these challenges head on. That’s what I’m going to do.”

Then afterward his GMB interview, he took to Instagram again, giving his thoughts on how it went: “Well, how do I feel after my interview on Good Morning Britain? I think first and foremost, I’m glad I did it. I really am.

“Because I anytime you’re presented with these big tests in your life, think standing up to them is important.

“No matter what kind of side of it you land, you just feel better that you stood up to the challenge. I’m happy that I did that.

“There’s obviously a level of disappointment as well, just purely and simply with the direction that the interview was taken.

“It felt like they had an agenda. It felt like there was a thirst for blood from one presenter in particular. It’s just, if I’m honest, felt unnecessary to me.

“And yeah, it kind of lent itself to what I said in my last post.

“It’s the reason I had fears going into it and why I questioned, do I need this kind of in my life? They invited me on.

“I didn’t ask to go on the show and they invited me on because they saw my post about these transitions in your life and rebuilding your life, but still, no matter how many conversations I had with producers about, okay, we can touch on this, but we want to move forward and look at what’s next.

“You know, it just felt like a trap. It just felt like, you know, one individual had an agenda and you know, she was going to twist the knife because she wanted to.

“Now I can handle that. It’s totally fine, it is what it is, I just wanted us to kind of show you a lot.

“This is, you know, it’s part of my journey. It’s the journey that I’m on and it is a kind of warts and all, yeah, documentation of what’s going off in this transitional period in my life.

“And yeah, I think it’s very important that you all see kind of what the media is like. And if I’m honest, that side of it, I don’t miss at all.”
