Jamie O’Hara says if Tottenham stay up they can attain Champions League football next season

Jamie O’Hara caused quite a stir after he says if Tottenham stay up they can attain Champions League football next season.

The former footballer turned pundit appeared on Wednesday’s Sky Sports Fan Club, where he spoke of Roberto De Zerbi’s impact at Spurs.

He looked at their recent performance, a 2-1 win away at Aston Villa, how that leaves the relegation battle, but also spoke on how to improve tactically, and the what they need to do looking ahead to summer recruitment. Watch the full YouTube below for that.

Spurs currently find themselves sitting 17th in the Premier League, with 37 points from 35 games played, and are a point above the drop zone with 3 games remaining.

Jamie O’Hara said on Sky Sports News: “Now we’ve got the manager. This manager, Roberto Di Zerbi, can take this club, I believe.”

Interviewer: “Take him where?”

Jamie: “Well, I think next season, if we stay up, and I know this is big statement, if we stay up with Roberto De Zerbi, we’ll be dangerous next season. I think we can get Champions League football.”

Interviewer: “What does dangerous mean?”

Jamie: “Well, dangerous means we have got a proper manager in charge.”

Reporter: “Dangerous, in the danger zone again?”

Jamie: “Well, we’ll be, I reckon we could get in the Champions League and I think…”

Reporter: “Top ten?”

Jamie: “What do mean top ten?”

Reporter: “You’ve been 17th, you’re currently 17th?”

Jamie: “No, next season I think we’ll get Champions League football. We won’t have European football. Listen, I’m saying all this, we’ve got to stay up. Let’s forget all that chat, we’ve got to stay up. But this manager is draw, He’s top draw.”

Reporter: “17th to Champions League football next season?”

Jamie: “Yeah, he’ll get it right. I’ve already seen…”

Reporter: “Let’s say we have four teams in the Champions League next season.”

Jamie: “Yeah, but we always get five.”

Below, Jamie O’Hara also felt Arsenal were over the top with celebrating reaching the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years…

There was a huge reaction on social media after Jamie O’Hara says if Tottenham stay up they can attain Champions League football next season…

@LeeTCornish1: @Mrjamieohara1 have sky sports run out of money? Why is this melt on my tele talking absolute shite as per usual 🤦🏻‍♂️

@SimonLester2468: How many times has this Clown told us that ‘Spurs are back’…🤦🏻‍♂️. He does like to learn the hard way.

@adamkeys_: We don’t even need to bookmark this. He’s said it under every manager 😂

@cyp_toon: This is one of many reasons most people want spurs relegated

@GunnerBerg81: This went quick from relegation to champions league then he laughs at us for being cringe

@TheVillaTrinity: Must we keep being exposed to the manchild that is O’Hara? 🙄 My 8yr old is more level headed

@Gwenger2: They should be flogging people like this off studio, what a joke

@WHU4EVER88: Fuck me i thought Arsenal were the deluded one’s but that is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard he has beat a relegated team & a villa team who didn’t give two fucks now he is going to get champions league football lol!

@PhilBlundell: Probably getting shit for this, but he’s right. Once a week football is so much easier, Carrick is showing it now. Since 2019 only Klopp, Guardiola, Arteta and probably Slot have done back to back CL qualification seasons so you can assume a spot is gonna open up.

@sturae229: Hahaha they won one game 2-1 against the worst Villa performance in about 4 years 😂.

@westhamhour: Nothing would please me more than either them going down this season or them absolutely tanking next season and being so far adrift they’re relegated with 5 games to go.

@EssexYorkie: This is the problem with dick heads like this. Spurs have had 2 disastrous Premier league campaigns but yet he thinks they are top 4! Most Spurs fans should be happy with top 10 next year.

@AidenMo92720030: The gift that keeps giving. Funny man O’Hara 🤣🤣

@JBlount80: Crikey. One fortuitous win against the worst side in the division, and another against a totally disinterested #avfc reserve side, and suddenly we’re to believe that #thfc are a CL side-in-waiting? Still only a point above the drop zone with three to play… #nffc #whufc

@ros_watts: 😂😂😂 you won’t be playing a non interested Villa every week!!!

@g_shaun18514: Because you beat wolves a team already relegated and an Aston Villa team who had their B team out ffs, ya not prime Barcelona man 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Damo8375: Deluded fool!!! Only 3 weeks ago he was saying this is the worst spurs team ever and they were going to get relegated!!!

@ALOTBSOL89: Almost relegated two seasons running but champions league next season? O’Hara living in cloud cuckoo land Spurs are a mile behind at least 8 Premier League teams without an entire squad overhaul, which they can’t afford.
