Incredible scenes with five upsets in the 23/24 FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Replays

There were incredible scenes on Tuesday night with five surprise upsets in the 23/24 FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Replays.

Scarborough Athletic will take on Forest Green Rovers in First Round of the FA Cup, reaching this stage for the first time in the club’s history.

Boro went ahead against Oxford City on 24 minutes, after the ball scrambled over the line thanks to Weledji who opened the score and nets his first goal of the season, before Luca Colville doubled the lead just before half time.

Out of nowhere, Harrison halved the deficit on 82 minutes before the Oxfordshire outfit made it 2-2 through Humphrey-Ewers a minute later.

Sheppey United almost make history, winning 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at home to Billericay Town.

The Ites have set up a First Round home tie with League Two outfit Walsall after keeper Aiden Prall saved a vital spot-kick, then Dan Bradshaw scored, leading to quite the celebration.

It was on 20 minutes when Daniel Bradshaw put Sheppey ahead, but Bradley Stevenson was able to net five minutes from the end to send the game to extra time.

That is where we saw Ben Wells given a second yellow card on 102 minutes, but the sides couldn’t be separated, so penalties it was.

Sheppey keeper Aiden Prall was on hand to keep out Matt Johnson’s spot kick in what was the only miss of the shootout.

Whitby Town are also in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in twenty years after seeing off Chelmsford City in their replay.

The North East outfit went ahead on 34 minutes with the ball slipped into to Junior Mondal who cuts it back for Jacob Gratton and he found the net.

Shortly after, Jacob Gratton returned the favour, he played the ball across goal for Junior Mondal to tap home and make it 2-0 to Whitby.

Mo Bettamer pulled one back for Chelmsford from close range to set up a tense finish on 75 minutes, but Mondal added his second of the game to give Whitby a 3-1 lead and a few minutes later the victory to set up a trip to Bristol Rovers.

Chesham United also caused an upset by knocking out Braintree, but it had to go to extra time to settle that tie.

Braintree took the lead 44 minutes after a looping effort by Aaron Blair from the right hand side found its way into the far corner.

Just as the National League South side thought they had won it, Chesham levelled right at the end, Kieran Murphy with a cushioned header past the keeper.

5 minutes into added time and the corner was sent it with the ball dropping to Lucas Sinclair in the box who made no mistake to put Chesham 2-1 up.

Braintree had a chance to level with a spot kick on 97 minutes, but Blair stepped up and his effort for saved by Zaki Oualah.

With Vicente Reyes up, Chesham went on to score a third into an empty net to seal the win.

And lastly, Slough Town managed to knock out Ebbsfleet United with a 2-0 victory and will now play host to Grimsby Town in the First Round.

Josh Jackman put Slough ahead on 32 minutes, making his way into the penalty area after the defence opened up and netted into the corner, before Matt Lench doubled the home side’s lead on 42 minutes with a fantastic finish 25 yards out.

Slough boss Scott Davies tweeted post-match: “Well that’s me not sleeping tonight..πŸ˜…

“I honestly couldn’t be any more proud of the lads after that performance.

“We can’t play football as well as Ebbsfleet, but one thing the boys can do is run through brick walls for one another.

“We found a way, we did it, together as one. πŸ’™πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ”
