Hull City fans continue to grow frustrated as their side’s winless run extends to six games after a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United.
Strikes from Gustavo Hamer and substitute Sam McCallum helped the Blades ease to victory, making it a third win in five for the Blades.
The result would have moved Sheffield United into the top two of the Championship table, were it not for the two-point deduction, They are instead three points off leaders Sunderland ahead of the rest of the weekend’s games.
Hull’s Tim Walter to Sky Sports: “To be honest it was our best game. We made stupid mistakes for sure, but that’s life. I’m not angry about it, I’m proud of them because of how we performed.
“At the end we have to play a better finishing pass. We created good situations, then we have to be more courageous in those situations. I’m proud of my boys, but we made easy mistakes and that’s why we lost.”
Walter told BBC Radio Humberside: “That’s football and it’s human that you make mistakes.
“We played a good, courageous game. We were very brave and kept going until the end. I’m proud of my boys.
“The team was more fluid and more creative but we just didn’t have the finishing touch. We had 20 or 30 crosses but they weren’t good.
“You can only learn from mistakes. I told the boys that they have to stay courageous. If we change then we can’t improve.
“I’ll stick with this approach 100%. That is how I have been successful. I’m very convinced of my game and my boys.”
“To be honest, it was our best game” 🗣

Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder to Sky Sports: “It was a bit of an arm wrestle. It wasn’t how we would have liked to have palyed, but sometimes you’ve got to grind it out.
“It’s a young team, it’s a new team, and we’ve got to find different ways to win. First half it became a bit of a game of basketball, which we didn’t enjoy. We were two-on-two and three-on-one at times, and we had to put them to bed.
“It wasn’t an ideal performance and we looked a bit leggy. We have to be better than that and we know that, but it’s the Championship and we’re all here for the three points however you get them.”
Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield: “I’m delighted with it but I didn’t think it was a great performance.
“We’ll play better and we have played better this season. When they gave us so many chances to counter and add to our lead in the first half we didn’t make the most of it.
“The shape of the team was good at the end. We never really gave them any clear opportunities and I thought our two centre halves were outstanding.
“Love a Friday night away win. We can get our head on the pillow tonight and enjoy our weekend.”
“We could have been better”

As mentioned, Hull fans grow frustrated as the winless run extends to six games after defeat to Sheffield United, this is the reaction on Twitter…
@itisalex_: Walter out
@MisterSlush: A bit more reflective this morning, albeit still bitterly disappointed. What worries me most is the apparent lack of much/any evidence of a change in style of play, a real lack of cutting edge & a very porous midfield/defence. Just hoping time will prove me wrong… #hcafc
@Cheggles29: 970 passed to get to the halfway line 🤣🤣🤣
@VAKOO33: The manager is on borrow time now. If he doesn’t win a game in these next 2 matches, he has to go he’s not good enough
@lbenno07: Shite. Jones and Macca not good enough for the system, final third product is unbelievably poor. Players don’t look interested in Walters system. Change need to happen quick otherwise we are in trouble this season
@J_J_Burke: I always find it scary how quickly teams’ fortunes can change. Hull have gone from play off hopefuls signing Carvalho on loan to calling for the owner to leave and manager to be sacked in six months
@shipguy55: Tim Walter out, now, not in december, now
@alfie_hcafc: something has to change, whatever it is, it needs to happen
@Anthony09487280: Walter out. No win in 13 enough said
@JamesParker96: Walter out I’m free in morning to drop him off at the airport
@coxy04089062: That was painful to watch. Sheffield wasn’t even that good either
@Tom220216: Walter out
@BradleyDenton7: I’m glad we sacked rosenior, the football is so much more entertaining and we’re getting good results at home now, what a joke
@joshmorris1904: Fucked it getting rid of a manager who knows this league inside out, this squad is a lot lot worse then last year be lucky to finish top half
@martynwaites86: I hope he doesn’t truely believe this? Sheff Utd cruised to 3 points. Awful performance all round. Worrying times if that’s our best!!
@mattkitson2: Is he ok? Must of watched a different game to me as hull was awful
@Ollieedmundson: they were absolutely horseshit, relegation fodder.
@shawberryfields: What’s he talking about chances? They had the good chance when they headed it against the crossbar. All other attacks were repelled fairly easy
@steve_fielder: If that guy thinks that was their best game then he’s easily pleased apart from the chance that hit the bar they wouldn’t have scored if they’d carried on all weekend
@shjbird: And they sacked Rosenior for this guy
@FreshShouts: Absolutely no one gets mauled by the tigers 🤣
@Lewwazere: Tim Waffler
@BWaddington: I think he has been drinking.
@benjpeterson11: Liam Rosenior is sat somewhere laughing. #HCAFC
@Charlotte_97xx: Absolutely abysmal, I still don’t understand the decision to sack Rosenior last season, current manager and the players combined are a set of damp dishcloths! Sort it out lads! #hcafc
@_lucasjefferson: Should never have sacked Rosenior. One step forward to take 2 back 💩 #hcafc
@1961_ian: Must have been to different game to me.
@_Waino_: Useless. Clueless awful way out of depth. Need a change
@pchapman24: What a load of bloody nonsense.. we were garbage and I can’t even see were the next point will come from… not having a striker did us last season and we are repeating the same thing #hcafc
@jducky63: How can you set yourself up for failure like that on the counter attack
@BluecoArmy: Bro is walking on thin ice. He’s gonna be fired soon
@Carlwilks2011: Really, what game was he actually watching. Certainly wasn’t the same one over 22000 and many at home were watching #ffs #hcafc
@leedsjoespiteri: He must have been watching another game, Hull were terrible especially at the back. If he’s happy with that than Hull prepare yourself for trouble waters.
