“How we pull that off?” is just one of the things said with Sheffield Wednesday fans thrilled as an update is made on player is made.
The newly relegated club, now playing third tier football, completed talks with Josh Windass, 27, who on the 10th of August, agreed a new contract.
He scored a total of nine goals for the Owls as they were relegated from the Championship last season, with his form catching the eye of many clubs in that division.
However, Windass is currently out injured, meaning no move could be done, and fresh terms were instead handed with the attacker.

CLUB STATEMENT:
Josh Windass has put pen to paper on a new deal with the Owls.
The forward’s new contract means Windass has now committed to Wednesday until the summer of 2023.
Windass joined Wednesday on loan from Wigan in January 2020, scoring three goals in nine games before making the move permanent in the summer of the same year.
Windass said: “I’m really pleased to get this done.
“I feel settled here, I’ve left some previous clubs too early and I didn’t want to do that here. The manager is great and it’s one of the best dressing rooms I’ve played in.
“All the lads are hungry, want to learn, want to win, and I want to be a part of it.
“Promotion is want we want this year and that’s our expectation, we aren’t scared of saying it.
“The manager was a big part of it too, he believes in me and we have the same values in football and how it should be done.
“It’s one of the biggest clubs in Britain, the fan base have been brilliant with me since I arrived and I’m looking forward to playing in front of them again this season.
“I got a small sight of it (playing in front of a full crowd) when I first signed and then Covid hit.
“There has been a massive turnaround, mentality, the young lads are in and want to improve and win.
“We just played a pre-season friendly against West Brom, and I felt my hamstring tweek, a bit of pain, not that serious at first, spoke to specialist, had a choice and went for the operation.
“I’m well on my way to recovery and I’ll be back soon.
“It good to have human interaction again (was back in this week), first chance to meet some new lads, having a couple of laughs with the boys, hopefully can have a good relationship going forward.
“I’ve not been injured in quite a long time so I’ve attacked this injury with a positive mindset anyway, and using it as a fresh blank for my mind and been watching the football, analyzing it differently.
“It’s only been 10 days post op and seeing them training and specially with the atmosphere at the weekend, can’t wait to be back involved.
“That was a big factor in me stay, close friends with Barry, brilliant captain for this team and really helped me here. All the team wants to work hard and win.”
Sheffield Wednesday fans were left thrilled as the big update is made on their player…

@OneSwfc: See you soon @SkyBetChamp 👋
@antonyc88: Huge for us. Interest shown from the championship so to to extend shows intent from him and the club. DM must be some manager to get these players to sign up
@RichBeev: Is that the sound of us getting our shit together I hear? 👏🏼
@JamesBSaint: Something has changed this summer with the running of the club. Seems we are doing things properly. Is that Moore, chansiri swallowing his pride, the advisors leaving?
@nanjayman: It’s Moore! He said Shaw and Urhoghide would have had their contracts sorted if he’d been here sooner.
@DPaggiossi: Nice one! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Great news ! Well happy with that Josh. All the Best for the season and beyond. Up the 🦉🤍💙 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@rmctom380: Quite honestly the best bit of business DM has made all summer. WAWAW!!!
@swfcsc: There’s some great positivity round the club right now. Wouldn’t it be great if the club could set a public target for finishing off ALL 19/20 season ticket refunds as soon as possible and put the whole thing behind us?
@jackdoona: Potential to make yourself a wednesday legend this season
@NewYorkOwls: Massive respect for sticking with us Josh. Now fire us to promotion.
@ashkitson1867: The way we’ve gone about business since relegation has been phenomenal. You fault DC at the minute he’s backed Moore more then anyone since Carlos
@CallumMcMaster4: Something else has just extended 😉
@rmctom380: Chuffed to bits Josh, well done on your loyalty and honesty. Top player
@BooshyBarnet: After last season & the effort you put in. You deserve it mate.

@jackholty: Fuck it, windass tattoo incoming
@AreMatthews: Was class in a poor side last year, and with previous managers in this situation we’d never have got him to stay. Darren Moore is doing a very good job so far for me 👌🏼
@Harryoverton18: Done very well there
@fionduffield: DM could be the best thing that’s happened to this club in a very long time
@spadger09: Maybeeeee, your gunna be the one that saves meeee… and after all, we got Darren Moore! #swfc Never been so confident in a manager for a long long time! This guy could go down as a legend….
@MWThrussell: I’m really struggling to get my head around this… SWFC is being run like a proper club, organised, on the ball, not leaving everything to the last minute… wtf is going on 🤣 – fantastic bit of news on a Tuesday afternoon ⚽️⚽️
@AndyPH24: oooooooooooohhhhhhh this club, what has happened in July! Glad to see you staying Josh!
@RightmovePat: What Darren Moore has done with the club in such a short time is remarkable, feels like we are a proper football club again and pretty much proves Chansiri has been listening to the wrong people for too long
@GeoffSWFC: Darren Moore is giving us our football club back
