A ‘horrible’ tackle leads to pushing, grabbing and headbutt between Slough and Maidenhead players and staff in a chaotic end to the game.
Footage has surfaced of the unsavoury scenes at Arbour Park with a huge melee halting the match, with Maidenhead boss Ryan Peters sent off during a confrontation.
He was accused of headbutting counterpart Scott Davies, after a heavy challenge to Maidenhead’s Jordon Ragguette who had to go off on a stretcher.

Maidenhead boss Ryan Peters said to Maidenhead Advertiser: “It’s a horrible tackle (on Jordon Ragguette). It’s a red card tackle and the boy hasn’t even been booked for it.
“I walked over to make sure Jordon was OK. One of our strikers has then been pushed by their manager. I have grabbed the manager and told him not to push them.
“I’ve been sent off for headbutting someone. I have never headbutted anybody in my life and I wouldn’t do so.
“Scott has most definitely made the most out of it and he’s got me sent off.
“It’s my fault because if I stayed in my dugout none of that would have happened.”
Slough boss Scott Davies said: “It all got really disjointed and looked a mess and the melee at the end was inexcusable from both sets of players and staff.
“It’s not something we want to see but we’re also not going to back down and they’re not going to back down.
“It went on for way too long.
“Ryan Peters came over to me and said ‘get your hands off my striker’ and then he put his head to my head.
“It’s not something I expected. I’m not that confrontational but he’s obviously lost his head with the result and it is what it is.
“He’ll pay the price for that with a red card but for me, it’s also inexcusable because it’s not something I want to be involved in.
“It happens and I’m sure he’s regretful, I’m regretful as well.”

Well that was a proper derby. Great point and then inexcusable scenes at the end. Still trying to figure out why their sub and staff entered the pitch, 50 yards from their dugout which sparked it all. Very strange. Never mind, onto Monday we go 👊🏼 @sloughtownfc https://t.co/5CDR9qBFlc

Here’s how social media users reacted after a ‘horrible’ tackle leads to pushing, grabbing and headbutt between Slough and Maidenhead…
@Jaswanarth: Some proper bans coming here. That rare thing when we don’t get to call it handbags….
@BevsWrld: Security didn’t fancy it I see
@jonsmithUC: Bring the whole family they said.
@shotsmanic: There is always one or two players who rise above it pushing players away. Points deduction should be mandatory, though at this stage, it is irrelevant, but if applied beginning of next…
@robert_west_: Something going very wrong with #nonleague this season. Scenes more akin to Sunday league matches and at the other end ultras causing havoc at grounds. Need to nip this in the bud @FootballAssoc otherwise the good work that’s been done over the last few years will quickly unravel
@grafter1899: Someone’s getting a heavy fine and ban from football
@GaryA1979: Probably the shocking tackle from your player, bellend. Have a word with your keeper for mocking him, vile.
@FrankNouble: What have I just watched 🤣🤣
@BearintheUK: From where I was sat, if the Maidenhead management had control of Josh Umerah, none of melee take place, he re-entered the pitch to try and grab 2 Slough players by the throat. The referee did book Milan for the tackle, but it was nowhere near as bad as Maidenhead are making out!
@Flapper_Kirby: Slough vs Maidenhead looked fun today 😂
@kevin_s77: Slough keeper smirking and laughing at the Maidenhead fan as he’s carried off – utter disgrace
