Hartlepool United have revealed this year’s fancy dress theme for their last away day of the season.
On Easter Monday (22nd April), over 1,000 of their supporters will be heading over to Barrow’s Holker Street dressed as… KNIGHTS!
Arise, all #Pools fans – the fancy dress theme for our final away game at Barrow has been revealed…#BARvHAR #PoolieKnightshttps://t.co/Md1fwTHtbu

Previous years, they’ve dressed up as Clowns at Tranmere, Smurfs at Charlton, Penguins at Crawley, Oompa Loompas at Charlton and Stormtroopers at Plymouth among many others.
John Pearson, the Hartlepool fan who organised the fancy dress theme, said: “To take over 1,000 fans to Barrow for an end of season game with nothing really at stake is unbelievable.
“I know a few of the last away day regulars are missing due to holidays and things but hopefully the Fancy Dress Brigade won’t be depleted too much.
“With it being St George’s Day the following day, it made sense for this year’s theme to tie in with that and no doubt there will be a focus on St George himself.
“Anyone who went to Tranmere last season could not have failed to enjoy the day, and the effort some fans went to with their face paint and costumes was brilliant.
“Hopefully this year’s game can be as colourful and as enjoyable for everyone as all the previous occasions and helps to send a positive message to the Club about the force they have behind them.
“Let’s hope this can be the start of Higgy’s Crusade!”
Barrow found out on what the Pools fans’ plans and amusingly posted: “Following today’s announcement, we are making some changes to the infrastructure of the @furnessbs stadium in order to accommodate @Official_HUFC supporters needs.
Work is expected to be completed as soon as we find our laminator.”
