Graham Potter responds to a reporter who in a video is seen saying fans call him the ‘worst manager in Chelsea’s history’.
The Blues were beaten 1-0 at home by bottom Premier League side Southampton on Saturday after James Ward-Prowse’s expert free-kick secures all three points.
After Saturday’s action, Chelsea are currently in 10th place, with the result making it their eighth league loss of the season after 23 games played.
Boos at full time at Stamford Bridge.
Another terrible performance the place is becoming toxic right now.
It has to get better soon surely?!

Fans were frustrated by the recent form and the Stamford Bridge faithful heavily booed Potter’s side at the final whistle.
Potter was quizzed by reporters after the game. One brutally said that supporters are claiming he is the worst manager in Chelsea’s recent history.
Potter, who sat listening with a deflated look on his face, responded to the brutal suggestion with the following: “The criticism is understandable” and referred to the integration of his new players into league.
Chelsea has failed to win four of their last four league matches under Potter. They have drawn against Fulham, West Ham United, Liverpool and Fulham, and lost to the Saints.
They are a huge 10 points behind Newcastle United, and Champions League qualification seems very, very unlikely at the moment.
🗣 “After a 1-0 defeat at home, any criticism you get is understandable .”

“After a 1-0 defeat at home, any criticism you get is understandable,” he said.
“I think we have had a tough period and I think we have had lots of challenges in terms of integrating younger players into the Premier League.”
The 47-year-old added: “That’s how it is and I am sure there will be people out there who think that I’m the problem. I don’t think that they are right but I am not arrogant enough to say that their opinion isn’t worth articulating.
“The truth is we took a step back in terms of our performance in the first half. The response in the second half was good but obviously it wasn’t good enough.”
Here’s how Twitter users reacted as Graham Potter responds to a reporter saying fans call him the ‘worst manager in Chelsea’s history’…
@HLTCO: There are plenty of ways to respectfully ask a manager for his POV in the middle of a bad run, framing it with a quote calling Potter “the worst manager in Chelsea’s history” is clearly intentionally provocative given his refusal to blow a fuse publicly.
@charlietheo: It’s an absolutely disgraceful bit of journalism
@jontwist: To put it kindly, what an empty, lazy question. Well done that gentleman for even responding to it, and so eloquently.
@Wig82: Some of these reporters lack the ability of articulation & eloquence mate. They just quote verbatim & it’s lazy & unprofessional imo
@GingerPirlo_: Horrific that like.
@AntMit: It’s because society is in the bin, mate. The internet has revolutionised the whole world for the better in some ways, but it’s dragged it into the sewer in others.
@just__kush: Can’t watch him this way ffs why did he leave Brighton
@supernovadmk25:
“We’ve been through a tough period”
Fulham (H)
West Ham (A)
Southampton (H)
2 points from those games…
Those 3 games aren’t tough! Should be 7 points minimum. Dropping 7 points is embarrassing!
@samu_mount: This is awful, I actually feel so sorry for him. The abuse he gets isn’t warranted, Chelsea fans like these aren’t real fans at all, but those who crave success. He needs time, so he fucking patient. #potterin
@malex200311: Journalist should be sacked
@CFCJamie_3: Can’t lie, I feel bad for him here. You can see in his eyes that comment hurt.
@CFC_Scarz: That’s a weird question, pretty harsh but the results are unacceptable.
@JA_fc99: That’s so unfair. Some reporters are proper dickheads y’know.
@cam_mcfc_: arrogant fans on twitter will tell you he’s the worst manager but don’t understand that you can’t chuck in 16 new signings in the summer, especially young, and expect you to win the title overnight, the lack of ball knowledge, especially with ‘big’ accounts truly shows
@StupidChelCTake: He’s hurting, the players are hurting, fans are hurting. How about, instead of wanting him gone, we all start supporting them till we start winning. Just letting them know, we’re here for them, no matter what?
@josephavfc: Feel sorry for him tbh
@cosmicdirtbag81: You see it everywhere. Lazy journalism is now reporting on what fans say on twitter which could be absolutely anything.
@Matthew210387: That’s your English media for you, one minute he’s a contender to replace Southgate, the next he is a failure at their beloved Chelsea, as let’s face it media love them.. wouldn’t blame the guy for telling them to ram their questions
@CarefreeCraig: I don’t want his POV tbh, I just want him to get out of my club
@VacuousTom: Shitty question but it’s times like that that I think he should show a bit of bite back. He seems like a really nice, well mannered guy but (being an Arsenal fan) I love seeing Arteta get riled up. It’s a cutthroat career and I think there’s only so far being nice gets you.
@Anthonylexton: What genuinely baffles me the most is our press and pressing structure. Towards the end of TT reign, we were losing, but still we controlled games, pressed well and often loss to silly counters. Now we simply have no pressing structure at all. Easy to play out against. Baffling
@AllAboutChelsFc: I don’t like this question but he’s not good enough
