Leeds’ Tyler Adams sends Everton’s Dwight McNeil into advertising hoardings during heated moment

Leeds’ Tyler Adams sends Everton’s Dwight McNeil right into the advertising hoardings during a heated moment on Saturday.

Footage is doing the rounds, showing the flare up between the two squads on the 41st minute of the Premier League encounter, a big one in the battle to avoid the drop.

Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie are players you don’t want to mess with as the American pair become one of the most brutal and ruthless midfield duo in the Premier League.

McNeil was bullied into submission by the American midfielders with a Toffees steward holding McNeil like a parent would hold their child.

Four yellow cards were issued in the end to Adams, McKennie McNeil, McNeil, and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Everton’s second-half victory over Leeds was secured by Seamus Coleman, a hero of the hosts. This result lifted them out the relegation zone.

They broke the deadlock at Goodison Park in a frantic encounter with a somewhat speculatar strike in the 64th minute.

Coleman grabbed a forward pass by Alex Iwobi down to the right. As he attempted to cross into the middle of the field, it hit the net from the narrowest angle, catching out Illan Meslier, the goalkeeper who had left a large gap at his near post.

This proved to be the winning goal as Sean Dyche’s team held on for a well-deserved win. After taking six points in three games, Dyche’s team moves up to 16th.

Everton goalscorer Seamus Coleman: “We didn’t go away from what we have been working from since the manager came in and we did that today and thankfully we got the win.”

On whether his goal came from a cross or shot: “When I was down there I suppose everyone was expecting the cross but the way my hip was feeling I couldn’t wrap my leg around it so I just thought I’d have a shot because I knew he’d be anticipating the cross. Thankfully I caught it well, I wouldn’t catch it like that if I tried again another 10 times. We got what we deserved to be honest.”

On whether the melee helped Everton’s momentum: “It can go either way, you can gain momentum or lose momentum. We want to show we are all together and all fighting and we have to give our fans something to support and when we do you saw them at the end there. Throughout the match they were massive. It’s three points and we move onto the next one game by game.”
