Glenn Tamplin named new owner of Isthmian League side

It has been announced this morning that Glenn Tamplin has been named the new owner of Isthmian League side Romford.

Just last week, we reported that the former Billericay Town man had been looking at clubs in and around Essex to start a new tenure with, and it had looked like that club was going to be Chelmsford City.

CLUB STATEMENT:

Romford Football Club are pleased to announce that local businessman Glenn Tamplin has agreed to join the club, in a move that will secure both the clubs short term, and long term future.

Chairman Steve Gardener said “The club have been struggling for some time now due to lack of finances and resources, and our aim of getting back to Romford in our own ground is a must, but myself and Colin Ewenson, are not in a position to drive the club forward and deliver the new ground.

“We have been looking for an investor to come on board, and with his previous experience, and success we are looking forward to being able to move the club forward.”

Glenn Tamplin said he was excited to become involved with Romford FC, and was looking to get back into football with a new challenge. Romford FC is a club with massive potential and myself Steve and Colin, want to realise that potential.
