FourFourTwo predicts the 2024/25 National League table

Check out more of FourFourTwo’s predicted National League table for 2024/25 below…

12) DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “It’s a fresh era with new owners recently taking over the club.

“Manager Ben Strevens his hod big success previously by signing young players and improving them, and that’s been the recruitment remit this time.

“Oscar Rutherford impressed at Eastleigh – and took out for Dion Pereira, on loan from Luton.”

11) YEOVIL TOWN – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Manager Mark Cooper knows what this league is all about and will hope to have his side in the promotion hunt following their National League South triumph.

“Aaron Jarvis, arriving from rivals Torquay, has scored goals in this division, while Brett McGavin – a fellow former Gull – has made the same move, adding to a good squad that could threaten the play-offs.”

10) YORK CITY – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “The Minstermen were a riddle lost season as a host of big-name signings failed to deliver, leading to Neal Ardley losing his job in February.

“They plucked impressive manager Adam Hinshelwood from Worthing in the National League South and after a slow start, managed to scramble out of trouble.

“The big summer arrival is Ollie Pearce.

“He went back to his former club to sign the 28 year old striker, who hit an obscene number of goals last season: 43 in 46 league appearances. Crikey.”

9) GATESHEAD – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Less than 24 hours after securing 6th place in the final game of the season, the Heed were banned from competing in the play-offs because they don’t meet the EFL’s required 10-year security of tenure on their stadium for newly promoted clubs.

“That’s an issue still to be resolved, but at least interim boss Rob Elliot — finally confirmed as permanent manager, having also won the FA Trophy – brings continuity.

“Ed Francis’ move to League One Exeter is a blow.”

8) ALDERSHOT TOWN – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “A poor defensive record cost the Shots a play-off spot and Tommy Widdrington has duly signed goalkeeper Marcus Dewhurst from Wealdstone and Chelmsford City’s highly-rated centre-back, Luke Jenkins.

“Now Aldershot must replace the 40 goals scored by a pair of departing talents in Josh Stokes and Lorent Tolaj, who joined Bristol City and Port Vale respectively.”

7) SOLIHULL MOORS – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Andy Whing’s Moors suffered Wembley heartbreak in last season’s play-off final when they lost to Bromley on penalties.

“To make matters worse, they returned six days later and suffered the same fate in the FA Trophy final against Gateshead.

“But you don’t reach two finals by accident: despite losing midfielders Joe Sbarra to Doncaster and Callum Maycock to AFC Wimbledon, they shouldn’t be underestimated.”

6) SUTTON UNITED – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Steve Morison has had a major clear-out following League Two relegation and targeted young, hungry players, many picked from the levels below.

“Matt Rush impressed with Maidstone and Aveley in the National League South; Eduino Vaz and highly-rated Situ Odelusi also arrive from the same division.”

5) ALTRINCHAM – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Although it was expected, the summer departure of star player Chris Conn-Clarke will no doubt be felt by Altrincham after Peterborough United swooped for the non-league star in their usual fashion.

“But Phil Parkinson is one of the best managers outside of the EFL and Alty, another year into becoming a full-time outfit, will be looking to build on last season’s 4th-placed finish with another promotion push.”

4) OLDHAM ATHLETIC – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “The Latics have seriously underwhelmed in two years in non-league, and finished 10th in 2023-24 by failing to win any of their final 11 fixtures.

“Manager Micky Mellon has taken Fleetwood and Tranmere out of this division, so knows what it takes; if they can build up a head of steam, their crowd will be a huge factor.”

3) FOREST GREEN ROVERS – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Keeping manager Steve Cotterill is arguably FGR’s best bit of business, boosting hopes of a swift return to the Football League following painful back-to-back relegations.

“Central defender Ben Tozer arrives at The New Lawn, having just won successive promotions at Wrexham, while Liam Sercombe scored 11 times in League One last season for Cheltenham Town.

“Adam May comes in from Cambridge with pedigree too.”

2) SOUTHEND UNITED – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Had it not been for a 10-point deduction, Southend would have finished in the play-offs, despite the off-field distraction of a takeover saga that is still dragging on. Assuming that finally gets sorted (which it has] and the transfer embargo that they’ve been under for the first part of the summer is lifted, the feelgood factor under manager Kevin Maher would be massive.

1) BARNET – It was written in the FourFourTwo magazine: “Effervescent boss Dean Brennan has wasted no time in making eye-catching summer signings to put the Bees in the conversation for top spot, following last season’s 2nd-placed finish and subsequent play-off collapse to Solihull Moors, losing 4-0 at home.

“The return of midfielder Anthony Hartigan is massive: the 24-year-old oozed quality while on loan from Mansfield, sweeping the club’s awards and earning a spot in the National League Team of the Season.”
