FourFourTwo predicts the 2024/25 Championship table

Check out more of FourFourTwo’s predicted Championship table for 2024/25 below…

16) CARDIFF

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 16th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: The Bluebirds must complement battlers such as Dimitrios Goutas and Manolis Siopis with added craft, pace and dynamism, but they should steer clear of trouble while Erol Bulut’s in charge – and could do even more if attacking midfielder Robin Colwill blossoms.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – instead they finished 12th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Sabri Lamouchi made an instant impact in his three months as boss, so the fact an extended deal couldn’t be agreed seems ominous – instead, Erol Bulut comes into 2023-24 from a standing start. With star loanees gone and goals in short supply, another struggle is like.

15) SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 15th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: It’s hard to trust Wednesday under the current ownership, but easy as pie to trust Danny Rohl. So, with keeper James Beadle returning, Svante Ingelsson a steady midfield addition and counter-attacking threats such as Anthony Musaba in place, mid-table is very realistic

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – instead they finished 20th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Following an astonishing playoff turnaround to win promotion, the wind has gone out of Wednesday’s sails with a shock departure of popular gaffer Darren Moore. But if Barry Bannan can still boss games at this level, then they should keep the drop zone at arm’s length.

14) SWANSEA

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 14th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Luke Williams will need to use all of his esteemed coaching acumen to keep the Swans mid-table, as a lack of investment leaves them looking to youth-teamers for squad depth and playmaker Matt Grimes for inspiration. Nathan Wood joining Southampton doesn’t help.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 14th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – and that is where they ended up.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Michael Duff and Paul Watson are outstanding appointments as head coach and sporting director respectively, but recent spending has been minimal, while doubts over the futures of key players don’t make it any easier to replicate 2022-23’s top 10 finish.

13) SUNDERLAND

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 13th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: The Black Cats have a young squad packed with high potential assets such as Jobe Bellingham, Dan Neil and Jack Clarke, who should either shine or bring in large fees. Regis Le Bris is a risk, however, with just two years’ senior experience at Lorient, ending in relegation and angst.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 4th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – instead they finished 16th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Sunderland shone in their first season back, making the playoffs despite absentees up top and in defence, demonstrating that this young squad is tough as well as talented. Keep everyone fit – Ross Stewart especially – and they could be a force to be reckoned with.

12) SHEFFIELD UNITED

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 12th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Midfielder Ollie Arblaster looks central to the Blades’ rebuilding job under Chris Wilder, while defender Anel Ahmedhodzic was excellent when last at this level. After a slow and uncertain summer, however, a swift response to relegation with barely a whimper feels unlikely.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place for the 2023/24 Premier League campaign – instead they finished rock bottom in 20th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: A squad needing upgrades but lacking the funds to sign them points squarely to an undignified scrap at the bottom.

11) QPR

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 11th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Progress is likely, following top 10 form for the strugglers once Marti Cifuentes had taken charge. The scale of that progress hinges on Lucas Andersen continuing to create freely and new goalkeeper Paul Nardi, brought in from Gent, being the solid signing it looks.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 24th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – instead they finished 18th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: QPR’s grim return from the final 30 games of last season would equate to a meagre 31 points over a full campaign, and things didn’t really improve under Gareth Ainsworth. With a squad ill-suited to his style, does his skillset extend far enough beyond motivation.

10) STOKE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 10th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Stoke should concede fewer than last season’s 60 goals after signing the division’s best shop-stopper in Viktor Johansson, while their young group will only get better. Wouter Burger and Bae Jun-ho’s link-up could be the ket to a first top-half finish since relegation in 2018.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 15th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – instead they finished 17th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: This looks like (another) rebuilding season for the Potters, who have had change in every department bar the manager. Beginning their preparations with a wafer-thin squad, a challenging start is likely, but things will pick up if teenage prodigy Emre Tezgel catches fire.

9) BRISTOL CITY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 9th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: The Robins have solid foundations, on and off the pitch. In order to reach the playoff places, though, they would require an extra creative spark and firepower, unless Anis Mehmeti and Tommy Conway can be those respective solutions. City may just miss out.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 16th place for the 2023/24 Championship campaign – instead they finished 11th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Defensive additions should strengthen City, so if Anis Mehmeti can provide fresh magic while the talented Tommy Conway builds on 2022-23’s double figure goal tally then progress is possible – but so it stagnation if their various veterans drop off. And will Alex Scott stay?
