Flynn Downes gets hilariously booed by Southampton fans for his cheeky West Ham chant during the promotion party parade.
The 25 year old West Ham midfielder has been on loan and thrived in the Championship with the South Coast outfit for the season.
His time there ended with him helping take the Saints up, defeating Leeds United 1-0 at Wembley in the playoff final at the weekend.
Adam Armstrong’s decisive goal ensured Southampton’s immediate return to the Premier League, along with a cash windfall of at least £120 million.
Downes, who signed for the Hammers from Swansea in 2022, has become a fan favourite with Southampton supporters hanks to his performances this season.
Throughout the campaign, he featured in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists, and they want him to stay.
Southampton manager Russell Martin and captain Jack Stephens started chants begging loanee Flynn Downes to choose Southampton for next season.

Ryan Fraser also sent a nine-word message to Flynn Downes in a hint.
Fraser posted a series of photos from Southampton’s promotion celebrations on Instagram with a heartfelt caption that included: “I can’t thank you all enough for the support and making this year one of the best of my life!”
He ended the post with: “Who knows what this summer will bring hopefully we can spend next season together making more history but if not then I wish nothing but the best for this club going forward.”
Flynn Downes responded to the post with “WEEEEEEEEEE” and a heart, in reference to Fraser’s nickname ‘Wee Man’, then Fraser replied “I’ll pick you you up on route to St Mary’s” and an emoji of a pen being held, hinting at a contract being signed.
It is thought that West Ham would demand around £12million for Downes – but it looks like he has dashed any hopes of a permanent switch.
West Ham congratulated him via social media following the win at Wembley, to which he replied with three heart emojis and one word: “IRONSSSSSSSS”, only to say it again on-stage at the Southampton promotion party.
He was speaking to the host and the celebrating supporters, and while being sprayed with champagne on stage by his team-mates, a chant of “sign him up” could be heard.
Downes was asked: “How does that sound?”
He replied “fuck” first before saying: “I love it, I love it.
“There’s not too much I can say as I’ll get too much stick but I’ll see what happens…”
The crowd cheered, then Downes said: “I can’t say too much… Irons!”
Fans then playfully booed as he mentioned his parent club’s nickname, leading to a smile on his face.
“I’m only joking,” claimed Downes as the host moved things on fast.
