The stadium opened in 1976 and has hosted several games, such as all 15 games of the 11th Gulf Cup, Arabian Gulf Cup, and 2006 Asian Games. It underwent major renovations in 2005 and 2019 in preparation for the FIFA world cup.

Education City Stadium

Located in northern Qatar, Education City Stadium is one of the eight stadiums hosting the 2022 FIFA world cup. With a capacity of 40,000 spectators and is expected to host matches up to the quarter-final stage. It will host six group matches, one round of 16, and one quarter-final match.

The stadium itself is designed to be environmentally sustainable, with features such as daylight-capturing façade panels and an advanced cooling system.

Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, located in Qatar, is set to be one of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is slated to host six group games and one round-of-16 match. Named after Qatar’s late Emir, Sheikh Ahmad Bin Ali Al Thani, the stadium has a capacity of 44,740. It’s located in the Al Wakrah district, and the stadium’s design was inspired by a traditional Arabian dhow boat.

The stadium is named after Ras Abu Aboud, a cape on the east coast of Qatar, and will host six group games and one round of 16 matches. 

Al Janoub Stadium

Al Janoub Stadium is one of eight stadiums used for Qatar’s 2022 FIFA World Cup. The stadium is located in the Al Wakrah municipality, about 19 kilometers south of Doha. It has a capacity of 40,000 and will host six group games and one round of 16 games.

The stadium has a unique design inspired by the sails of traditional dhow boats. As one of the most iconic venues at the 2022 World Cup, it will surely provide an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
