Swansea City can confirm the club has parted ways with head coach Luke Williams.
Assistant head coach Ryan Harley and first-team coach analyst George Lawtey have also left the club with immediate effect.
Assistant head coach Alan Sheehan will assume the role of caretaker head coach on an interim basis. Alan’s coaching staff will also include Martyn Margetson and Kris O’Leary.
The process to appoint a new head coach is already under way, and the club will update supporters on an appointment in due course.
Swansea City chairman Andy Coleman said: “This was a difficult decision and one that has not been taken lightly. Luke has led the club through some challenging periods and we appreciate his hard work.
“I am aware of the effort he and his staff have put in throughout the last 13 months for Swansea City. I want to personally thank Luke, Ryan and George for their dedication and the sacrifices they have made on behalf of the club.
“Unfortunately, since the turn of the year our performances and results have not been of the standard required at this level. Ultimately, that has led us to conclude a change is required in order to bring about an improvement in our showings on the pitch.
“We will keep supporters informed of developments when we are in a position to announce a new head coach, while Alan, his staff and our squad focus on our upcoming fixtures.”

Chairman Andy Coleman and former head coach Luke Williams were due to appear at the fans’ forum.
The Club is committed to holding this event. Given the timing of the managerial change, however, the Club has decided to postpone the event for two weeks so we are in a better position to discuss the future direction of Swansea City.
All those who applied to join the fans’ forum will be contacted in due course. Further information will be made available as soon as we’re able to share it with you.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing you in the first week of March.
‘Get him gone’ – Swansea fans demand change after 3-1 defeat to Stoke
“It’s incredibly disappointing,” Luke Williams said after defeat to Stoke.
“It was a decent performance up until we took the lead.
“When you take the lead that late in the game, it’s incredible to think we have conceded three goals from that point.
“We conceded free-kicks we did not need to give away, and then we cannot defend simple balls into our box.
“We are going to need people to show leadership on the pitch if we want to make sure we get things moving in the right direction.
“We can perform well enough in games to score the first goal quite often, but we need to be tougher and take responsibility.
“We are still eight points clear of the danger zone but we have wasted so many opportunities since the turn of the year.
“I know there is enough quality in the dressing room. We have players who are good professionals. We just need a bit more of that leadership and responsibility on the pitch.”
Fans reacted amid the favourites to become new Swansea manager as they part ways with Luke Williams…
@WillHughes_11: Gutted it didn’t work out. Seemed like the right choice this time last year but we’ve fallen off a cliff since the new year. Unfortunately I see this being a merry go round with managers so long as Andy Coleman is at the club, he’s the real problem, he cannot run a football club.
@bigstace9: Hope Mr Coleman doesn’t think this will get him a free pass tomorrow night – indecision about the manager and a poor transfer window have put us in terrible predicament – questions need to be answered!
@scfcoli: really hope i’m not reading too much into the word interim instead of caretaker. Under 0 circumstances should the job go to Alan Sheehan
@dionwgthxmas: Isn’t it crazy what 2 months can do in football. Glad to see the back of him though. Real shame, he was becoming a local hero before the WBA links. If this was the main course I wonder what he’s got himself for pudding 😂😂
@NCFCTyler: crazy how he was being linked with being the next wba manager after corberan literally like a month ago and now he’s ended up with the sack. the championship moves so fast
@ChloeChantelle1: Sad It didn’t work out, wishing him all the best, thanks for the good times Luke! 🦢🖤
@Thomas_Passe13: Really liked the bloke but this is for the best after the West Brom nonsense. No Sheehan either please. Fresh start needed
@LiamaThomas21: All the best Luke
@liamjenkins2902: Thank you for the good times Luke. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you 🦢
@NigelRamsell: Unfortunately, since the turn of the year our recruitment has not been of the standard required at this level. Ultimately, that has led us to conclude a change is required in order to bring about an improvement in our showings on the pitch.
@htomufc: I watched the Swans the other day and they were pretty shocking at both ends, are just far too erratic on/off the ball and between the boxes. Massive fan of Luke Williams but felt like it was coming after the drop off a couple of months ago. Wounded, proper like him as a gaffer.
@thomagrif: Feels like Swans need a different approach after sacking Luke Williams. A possession based manager with limited adaptability is not the approach now especially with Grimes gone. Needs an adjustment to the style of play imo #swans
@LloydySCFC_01: If sheehan’s having it til the end of the season, you might has well have left luke williams in charge… #leagueone
