Fans ended up getting ‘removed’ from Tottenham vs Vitesse on Thursday night after a fight breaks out within the stadium during the game.
Away fans were seen trying to climb into the home section of the ground in the first half of Tottenham’s Group G Europa Conference League game on Thursday.
The police were forced to intervene and form a barrier to prevent the supporters from reaching each other, and it was caught on video by numerous amounts of people.

A selection of fans were removed from the stadium as a result and the crowd was then quickly brought back under control thanks to the stewards and security staff – with the incident taking place when the scoreline was 3-2 late in the first-half.
The match in Europe’s newest club competition marked Antonio Conte’s first in charge of Tottenham after he took over this week from Nuno Espirito Santo.
‘Unfortunately, there has been some crowd trouble in the away end throughout that first half,’ BT Sport pundit and ex-Spurs player Jermaine Jenas said at the break.
‘Clashes between fans and the police which saw a lot of fans removed from the stadium but thankfully, it is now calmed down.’
Tottenham scored three goals in the first 13 minutes to take the lead in Conte’s first game in charge.
However, the Dutch giants bounced back by scoring two goals before the half-time break – making it 3-2.
The second half got off to a turbulent start with Romero being sent off with 30 minutes left to play.
Vitesse then went down to 10-men after Danilho Doekhi was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Harry Kane.
Things then got worse for Vitesse when goalkeeper Markus Schubert was shown red.
He raced out of the goal to confront Emerson Royal and ended up blocking the ball with his shoulder.

Twitter users reacted to fans being ‘removed’ from the stadium after a fight breaks out during Tottenham vs Vitesse…
@Christianjw92: Great idea putting hospitality section behind the away end with nothing to separate tbem
@ItsBennyV: #Vitesse have brought with them some of the most vile fans I have seen in a long time. Climbing across seats to reach perimeter and spitting into Spurs section. Climbing up to middle section and punching fans. Police have finally set up a cordon but took ages #Scum #TOTVIT
@LoftyBDino: Never experienced a game like it tonight. Vitesse fans are a disgrace FYI
@side_shelf: Tonight was absolutely mental. Vitesse fans in the ground trying to fight everyone they could, 3 red cards, own goal, bloke steaming towards Vitesse, some bird tried to get on the pitch from the south, lad ran on for Harry’s shirt – You get a different breed at these games 🤣🤣
@david2212212: The Vitesse fans were an embarrassment to their club. But, of course, they won’t be punished.
@sufferingTHFC: Not seen the media say anything about the atrocious scenes from the Vitesse fans by the way. I was close to the away end and could clearly see them throwing punches and items and trying to scale the wall to reach Spurs fans above. Throw the book at @MijnVitesse @UEFA
@FinlaysonA21: Vitesse fans were disgraceful and disgusting making monkey noises, throwing beer cups at a child, abusive gestures, spitting. They should hang their heads in shame. Asked stewards if they could remove the fans steward said it would kick rest off and they would catch them later
@JaiP72: Those Vitesse fans were awful. Those guys in the 2nd tier in the east stand stood up for themselves though. Hope UEFA throw the book at them. Scumbags
@martinflack: Was embarrassing! Police and stewards had no control for about 5-10 mins!

3) Police have now managed to separate the stand above the Vitesse supporters. The stewards, along with the Met officers, have been running back and forth to deal with the rapidly escalating situation. Hopefully the issue is sorted during half time.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte on BT Sport: “It was a crazy game, usually I don’t like this types of games, the crazy game means anything can happen. But at the same time I think we should win, and we won. For sure we were winning at 3-0 and then they scored two goals that we can avoid.
“Then after our red card, we were in trouble, but I think to win suffering is good for this team, for these players, and they needed to improve their confidence. I think they needed to work a lot, and we have to find the time to work. But now it is international break.
“Tonight they wanted to win, and for this season we won. For sure we have to improve, and I think that this is a positive thing. In my opinion there is a lot of space for improvement for this team, in every single player.
“It’s not easy because in two days we prepare for this game against Everton. It’s only one day because I think tomorrow it’s impossible to work with the players that played tonight, because they used a lot of energy.
“We need to have a bit of patience because we need to work on many aspects – tactically and physically, and I ask for the players to understand what I want.
“But I am not afraid about the work. Because in my life I know only through work you can reach important target.”
Vitesse boss Thomas Letsch: “The feeling is something between disappointment and pride as I feel we did a really good game. We started the game really fast and forced them to make mistakes but then in three situations we weren’t good enough and we saw Spurs’ quality. But I really liked the way we came back.
“In the second half, it doesn’t matter if it was 10 against 11, I thought we dominated and as Vitesse in this stadium you can be proud of that. Ultimately we are disappointed as we lost the game.”
