A West Ham fan accidentally ripped his entire finger off during goal celebrations in the Hammers draw with Genk in the Europa League.
Grim footage has emerged after the match of what looks like a completely severed finger resting on the metal wrung of a fence to keep supporters away from the pitch.
Paramedics can be seen in the background of the clip and West Ham have confirmed that the incident from Thursday’s Europa League game is in fact real and not a prank.
Halloween may have been and gone, but this will no doubt be the supporter’s scariest night within the last week, and while the video might be horrid to look at, social media went on to see the funny side.

It is understood the supporter, who has remained unidentified, lost his finger while banging the fence. He has since received medical attention.
The video, posted by a fan on Twitter, shows the severed digit lying unattended on a fence, surrounded by several drops of blood, with several stewards standing nearby.
West Ham ended up drawing the game 2-2 after a late own goal by Tomas Soucek after Joseph Paintsil had put Genk ahead inside five minutes, however the Hammers fought back thanks to a double from Said Benrahma, the second of which came after a superb spin round a defender on the edge of the box.
But Czech substitute Soucek headed into his own net to deny David Moyes’ side a win on the Scot’s 1000th game as a manager, although they remain top of Group H with 10 points, four ahead of Dinamo Zagreb in second.
Up next for the Hammers, they host Liverpool on Sunday afternoon in their last Premier League match before the international break.

West Ham boss David Moyes: “I think on reflection a draw is the right result. Genk started better and we needed our keeper to make some good saves.
“In the end we got two goals and it looked like it would be enough but for the own goal. Lots of credit to Genk.
“I’d slightly altered things, and I changed it round again after 20 minutes and after that some of our football was really good, we just couldn’t find the finish.
“I look at it that we’ve qualified, and the other part of it is we’re still new to this. We are trying to keep players fresh for the Premier League, so somewhere along the line it was going to get bumpy. And Genk made it bumpy.
“I thought Said played well tonight, he did a lot of good things which in recent games I’ve not been so sure, and getting a couple of goals will help him, so good on him.
“I’ve not really taken that in yet (on his milestone match). As a manager you’re just thinking about the last minute so I’ll probably reflect on it later.
“But it’s quite hard to believe that I’ve got there and it’s a moment I’ll always remember, an away game in Europe. And the game will always be remembered for when Tomas Soucek scored an own goal.”
Meanwhile, West Ham say they are “appalled” by a video on social media which appears to show a group of the club’s supporters directing an antisemitic chant at a Jewish man on a flight to Belgium. See that video HERE.
West Ham have pledged to identify those responsible and issue indefinite bans from the club.
“West Ham United is appalled by the contents of the video circulating on social media and condemn the behaviour of the individuals involved,” a club spokesperson said.
“The Club is liaising with the airline and relevant authorities to identify the individuals.
“We continue to be unequivocal in our stance – we have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination.
“Any individuals identified will be issued with an indefinite ban from the Club. Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the Football Club and we do not welcome any individuals who do not share those values.”
