Fans demand season ticket refunds as Dover Athletic spiral into chaos making yet another baffling statement amid more departures.
The Kent club have been dealt with another blow to their plans for 2023/24, and it’s not just players who they have just signing leaving.
This time it’s player-assistant Ricky Holmes, well known in the EFL, and joined the National League South club less than two weeks after playing his first game.
The 36 year old linked up with the Whites having worked with manager Mitch Brundle previously at Farnborough.

But now he’s departed after just a few weeks having been offered a full-time role back at Farnborough – according to KentOnline.
In a statement on Dover’s Twitter, Brundle said: “I have parted company with Ricky Holmes as assistant manager.
“I’m gutted, not only to see a friend go, but a fantastic coach.
“It was always going to be difficult for him, with his wedding coming up and being offered a role that will see him head into football full-time, which he always had aspirations to do and I fully respect them.
“As a club at the moment, we aren’t in a position to stand in his way.
Dover’s POTY Myles Judd left to join Hemel Hempstead, announced by his new club mid-way through Saturday’s friendly at home to Gillingham, midfielder Ademola Shokunbi has also gone to Dulwich Hamlet after signing for Dover a month before.
Brundle accepted the responsibility was down to him, and apologised to fans.
“Juddy gave me his word,” said the Whites boss after their 4-0 loss to the Gills last weekend.
“I take full responsibility, I put a trust in a mate and a friend who I played with and that’s not reciprocated, so I have to learn from that and I will, being a young manager. As long as you learn from those things.
“All I can do is apologise on behalf of myself because I take full responsibility for it.
“He wanted it to be announced, for reasons that were personal, but you learn, loyalty in football doesn’t last these days I’m afraid.
“I wish him all the best, he’s still a great kid. We helped him as a football club and that has not been reciprocated.
“He obviously wants to be closer to home or something like that, there are nitty gritty bits about it which I don’t need to go into, but what my aim now is to replace him which I believe I can do.”
The report adds that Lee Flavin will now Brundle’s new assistant.
