Fans call for Jamie Carragher ‘to be sacked’ by CBS after his joke made to Kate Abdo went ‘too far’ with footage of it going viral.

Jamie Carragher had viewers cringing at his uncomfortable interaction with Kate Abdo while covering the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The ex-Liverpool player made a joke that didn’t quite hit the mark about Abdo’s relationship after Arsenal’s victory over Porto.

Wearing an Arsenal shirt, Carragher jokingly proposed that Abdo should also wear the top, but she responded by saying she was ‘too loyal’ for that.

The much loved CBS Sports Golazo show, which has a punditry team of Carragher, Abdo, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, often tease each other, but it seems on this occasion, Carra completely missed the mark and took it ‘too far’ according to Twitter users.

Carragher questioned Abdo’s relationship with Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott, this is a must watch clip. Be prepared to cringe.

Carra said: “You [Henry] can wear it next and for the last part [of the show] you [Abdo] have got to wear it.”

“No, I am loyal,” Abdo returned quickly before Carragher responded: “To who?” Abdo made her footballing loyalties clear and said: “Manchester United, thank you very much”.

Carragher then dropped the deadpan joke: “Not to Malik”. Henry’s head quickly turned to Abdo, Carra laughed his head off at his own joke, while others stayed silent and not even Richards laughed.

“What? Why would you say that?” said Kate before Carragher attempted to explain himself. “He hasn’t had a mention in the show yet, has he?”

The team have often poked fun at Abdo’s relationship status while social media users joked Thierry Henry had a thing for Kate.

Last week saw Kate and Malik go public with their partnership and the prospect of marriage was brought up during the show.

Abdo quickly shut down the prospect of her other half having a stag do after Henry and Carragher hinted at wanting an invite to it.
