Family of sacked Cardiff manager Mark Hudson release sad video telling kids of club’s decision

The family of sacked Cardiff manager Mark Hudson release a rather sad video telling his kids of the Championship club’s decision.

The clip shows the beautifully heartwarming moments Mark Hudson told his children he has a job at Cardiff – then it ends with footage of him telling them he’s been sacked.

Hudson was axed as Bluebirds boss on Saturday night just hours after Wigan’s Will Keane found a 96th minute leveller, extending Cardiff’s winless run to nine games.

Marie-Louise, his wife and mother of his three children, made the decision to upload a ‘reel’ that has had fans welling up.

Hudson can be heard saying, “Don’t worry,” “That’s football.”

Marie-Louise wrote a caption tot he video: “I’ve debated over whether to post this video or not, it’s personal, it’s raw, it’s a high and a gutting low.

“It’s very easy to just post the highs, the perfect parts of your life on social media, but that’s not real life. It’s also a side to football (unless you are in the football world) you won’t ever see.

“Mark’s chapter at Cardiff has ended and we are gutted. This video shows the time Mark got offered a position at Cardiff and what an opportunity that was. A chance to go back to the place we call home (and will always call home) and place where we hold so many precious memories, a place that we have friends that are family, the city our boys were born in, the place that gave us peace after tragedy.

“Some may ask why I have recorded the last video but I wanted to record it for the boys, for Mark, to show them when they are older and also to show how much this opportunity meant to us as a family.

“Football can test you to your limits, test your relationship, take you away from your family but as always we will do this journey together. We will always be Mark’s number one supporters and we are so proud of everything he accomplished so far.

“As Mark said “That’s football”. It’s a rollercoaster and one that we will ride for years to come. Thank you to everyone that has supported us.”

This is what social media users said, as the family of sacked Cardiff manager Mark Hudson release a sad video telling kids of the club’s decision…

@mlws71: I’ve never seen this side of football before. Well done to Mark for sharing it. The impact of his career on his kids is considerable. His response to losing his job was calm and designed to reassure his sons that things are ok. Best wishes to him and his family.

@augustus_gtrs: This is incredible. As a father I was welling up watching this. A brave man with a beautiful family. They’re so proud of him and he talks to them with such respect. I try to be like this with my son too. I hope our relationship is as strong as theirs in the years to come.

@milan_patel21: It was never his fault. Still see him as our first captain to take us to the premier league.💙

@PhilJones33: This just reaffirms everything I’ve ever him about him. One of the good guys.

@JamesL1927: Great man. Wonderful servant to our football club and wish him all the very best.

@JRees1927: What a lovely man and his kids adore him

@JakeFletcher151: @M_Hudson5 still a legend at Cardiff, tough job to take over, done what you could with the squad you had. Wishing you the best for the future

@MegstasBar: Boys, your Dad will always be a City legend.

@Rhysius: Heartbreaking. A good man who’s been let down by our poorly run club. And the two people to blame will carry on with no repercussions

@chrisjonhall: Such insight – amazing children. I appear to have something in my eye. All the very best

@ConorDonegal: There are some right w******s in football club ownership but there aren’t too many Mark Hudsons. Best of luck to you and your family

@BlaineMcKenna77: The side of coaching that people don’t see. Love this! ❤️⚽️

@I_Hopkins1: absolute legend who’s been thrown under the bus by the absolute cunts at the board 😥 only one marky hudson 🔵

@SFisher80: 🥲🥲 still human beings.

@TavernFootball: This video is incredibly powerful. Because success has become the no1 priority in football, it’s easy to forget that managers have families with thoughts and feelings. They can lose their jobs due to chaos above them. Mark Hudson is a hero to his kids, an that’s all that matters

@bethanyevans_: I was fine until he said “don’t worry that’s football” 🥺 what a guy @M_Hudson5 💙

@markarber_ism: Family! The most important role in the whole process. Buying in to every decision you make as an individual. Never too high in success, never too low in failure. This is class 👏🏻

@Jake_Elf24: Hit me hard this.

@GJ_Thomas: Mark Hudson will forever be one of my favourite players to ever pull on a Cardiff City shirt. An absolute club legend, and the reason I’m glad he lost the job, last thing I wanted was him relegating us! #Bluebirds

@CameronP93_: Really good to see the human side of managers. Fans calling for people to lose their jobs etc all the time. You never see this

@CalvinBook: Football managers are human beings. They have families and feelings. It’s a brutal job, complicated by haphazard decisions, taken by those above them in the food chain. That reality explains why I respect each and every one of them.

@Dunner3: Nice to see the human side of it all, people are to quick to call for the sacking of managers/coaches forgetting these people have a family to go home and tell.

@Wudgyy: Christ who is cutting onions. Guy is a Cardiff legend that got shafted by the dyre state of us as a club 😭

@CiDeely: The side of working in professional football people often don’t see

@ffwtbol: The human side of getting sacked as a manager.

@CcfcDai93: Hope tan and the rest of the board see this and understand what this club means to people, like i said this was never @M_Hudson5 fault, he took over a shit show and tried his hardest to sort it out because he loves @CardiffCityFC #CityAsOne #BLUEBIRDS #CCFC
