Alfreton Town

Experienced former EFL player among five new signings for Alfreton

An experienced former EFL player has become among five new signings for Alfreton Town with four of them being named in one day.

The 30th of May was a hectic one for the National League North outfit, boosting their squad with some quality additions.

Last season, Alfreton finished 5th in the table, with 69 points from 46 games played, but lost 1-0 to Kidderminster in the playoff quarter final.

Now they’re wasting no time in getting prepared for the new campaign, hoping they can go and get that promotion to the National League, which they’ve not been in since 2014/15.

Shaun Brisley joins the likes of Jamie Walker, Kennedy Digie, Lewis Salmon and Jake Day in signing for Alfreton.

CLUB STATEMENT:

Alfreton Town are delighted to announce the signing of experienced defender Shaun Brisley.

Shaun arrives at the Impact with a wealth of EFL experience that will no doubt strengthen the squad.

Featuring for the likes of Carlisle United, Notts County and Leyton Orient he has most recently been at Buxton where he won the Derbyshire FA County Cup.

On his arrival at the club Shaun had this to say, “Billy contacted me as soon as the season finished, I met up with him and had a good chat and from there it was an easy decision. Glad to get it all sorted and really looking forward to getting started on what I hope to be a successful season.”

Manager Billy Heath had this to say on securing his 4th signing of the summer “I’m pleased to get this one done, I wanted to get some experience at the back and Shaun is definitely that. Any team needs an experienced centre half and I just wanted that experienced head to add to an already solid defensive line.”

Shaun will join his new team mates when the squad returns for pre season training in June

Welcome to Alfreton Shaun.
