Ex-owner Phil Jarman calls for change at Broadfield Stadium, with fans increasingly concerned for Crawley’s future under WAGMI.
Sutton defeated Crawley 3-0 in League Two, meaning Matt Gray’s team have now won four of five games.
Crawley were beaten for the sixth consecutive match and reduced to 10 men with Joel Lynch sent off in the final stages.
They led five minutes before the break when the international from Bugiel took the lead, only for that man to double the lead within two minutes of restart.
He registered his fifth goal of campaign with a sublime flick in the six-yard area that nestled in the top corner.
Angol put the past Addai with a low shot in the final minutes to seal all three points.
Crawley currently sit 23rd with 26 points from 33 games played, Rochdale are bottom with 25 points from 35, while Hartlepool are a place outside the drop zone wth 29 points from 35 games.
@edward_w97 summed it up on Twitter by writing: “Crawley Town really are staring the National League in the face. Fans don’t deserve it. The owners absolutely do. List of errors is endless. Haven’t been many seasons as catastrophic as the one Crawley are having.…
“Crawley’s past three finishes in League Two have been 13th, 12th and 12th. Solid mid-table outfit with a core containing some impressive players. Taken WAGMI United less than 12 months to throw that all away. Trying out ‘some new ideas’ has created a horror show…”
He told the Crawley Observer: “So the circus continues but our amazing fans are running out of matches running out of time and running out of patience.
“I was very vocal for a long time about being pro-WAGMI, investing their monies into a club has always got to be welcomed and respected.
“Also I appreciate and understand the risk that’s involved and have always applauded Preston and his efforts thus far.
“BUT owning and running a football club is a privilege that many football fans could only dream of (and some have fans groups who have went that far). Owning a football club is more than 90 mins, it’s a community, a town, a honour but above all football is NOT a status symbol which it clearly looks to have turned out, and if it is it won’t have any authenticity around it, no structure, no heart or soul.
“We could write a book now on the embarrassing headlines we have had in the past season, a club that was well remembered for cup runs and passionate fans is now been talked about for all the wrong reasons.
“It took a lot of hard work to build it up and hasn’t taken it long to bring it crashing down. Any owner with a football heart and a fraction of the money could still make this work if he does the simple things right and recruits from top to bottom. I feel for a lot of the staff there especially the gaffer – it’s one of the toughest jobs in all the leagues.
“I like many, still would loved to be proved wrong and Preston and WAGMI can turn it around, but if it doesn’t change now it could be a sad day for Crawley as a town, community and football club. Bigger clubs than us can testify what goes down and out of the league may never come back up.
“If we do stay up, change is still needed. It can’t go on the way it has or the inevitable will happen for certain.”
Meanwhile, Crawley’s Dom Telford has made a plea to supporters as the club face a battle to stay up in League Two.
“They (Crawley’s fans) don’t understand how crucial they are for us,” said Telford, as per Crawley Observer. “Moving forward in these next 14 cup finals (Crawley’s remaining games of the season) we want to put a smile on their face and make sure that the money they have spent on us is well worth it.
“We are in this position, but we are professional footballers for a reason. Because we are winners and we want the best for each other, and the fans.
“We share their frustration and I just want them to know, that every man in there [Crawley’s changing room[ is pushing for those three points. As soon as that comes, it will change everything.”
“We can turn the tide on Tuesday,” said Telford, after the game against Northampton. “When you get beat the best thing to happen is having a game on the Tuesday to put it right.
Yet his side went on to get hammered 3-0 by Sutton United, putting increasing pressure on Crawley, the owners, staff and players, with fans losing patience. Sounds like the tide is worsening.
As the ex-owner calls for change with fans concerned for Crawley’s future under WAGMI, this is the social media reaction…
@PortugalTheMark: I can see Wagmi blaming the ‘Yems’ Situation from almost a year ago on this whole season, they have had more than time to move on and rebuild. Should have kept Youngy clearly. I’m fed up. Dont want to watch games anymore. Just depressing now.
@0fficalSTFC: You’ve got super Scotty Lindsey. He knows exactly what you need! Conroy at the back! No one in attack! Crawley’s going to the National league!
@khuge: I am really done! I do not want to watch anymore games, it is awkward and embarrassing. @WAGMIUnited have ripped the heart and soul out of our club and left us with a team that struggle to stay up in the national league! We are ruined!!
@maccio_carlo: @WAGMIUnited you owners are an utter disgrace and an embarrassment. How have these clowns been able to take over a football club .
@AndyyBarker: Time for the tactical genius @SportsCheetah to sit on the bench again. How do those subs work.
@_Aaron_Holt_01: Hope you lot stay in the football league; hopefully these Americans will go play with another toy
@bruceywells: Just as toothless a display as the previous 5 games…stop this experiment now @WAGMIUnited #WagmiOut
@AdSheridan: @WAGMIUnited @SportsCheetah Exactly which decade were you planning on getting @crawleytown to the premier league?…. Absolutely destroyed the club. Nice work…..
@ctfcwes: You don’t deserve our support you set of clowns all 11 players utter embarrassment each and every of them
@Shareef_699: Looking scary the table. When are Wagmi going to sort the shit at the club? It’s an absolute shambles. I can’t wait for Saturday!
@TaylorODriscoll: #WAGMIUnited have single-handedly destroyed Crawley Town with their ineptitude and incompetence in running a football club. Because of them, Crawley will be playing National League football. It’s time for WAGMI to go. #WAGMIOut
@RossKing2: Time to accept we’re going down. Every bit of hard work done previously has been un done by these clowns, take us forever to try and get out the national league. Few decent away trips in that league on the plus side #WAGMIOUT
@crawleyfan: @_Galley_ @WAGMIUnited you have asset-stripped our club of its best players for no discernible reason. Mr Galley’s stewardship of transfers has been laughable in its incompetence. Do any of you have an explanation for the destruction of our club? No, I thought not. #wagmiout
@DarlisonArchie: 2 crypto bros have killed my club because they wanted some fun and a new project, a club with so much history and what could of been an exciting future, not to put all the blame on wagmi but most of it is on there hands #wagmiout
@TealeJM: Get out of our club @WAGMIUnited
@showponytrader:
@WAGMIUnited as you like stats, here are some stats from season start to date:
Mangers: 5
Club Statements: 8
League wins: 6
One more league win than we have had managers is a joke, as is this club under Wagmi. You have caused us nothing but anxiety & despair. Please just go.
@Atr42John: I’m struggling to make my mind up. Do we just accept it’s gone and see what the manager can do in the summer or do we have one last throw of the dice and try yet another manager. Clearly the current situation isn’t looking like it will turn around.
@MFagmi: Zero point changing as @WAGMIUnited would only get another yes man in that will do what they want. It’s clearer every game that until @WAGMIUnited sell this club we will continue to slowly die. I fear this is just the start of our decline
