Our live stream ahead of Saturday evening’s Premier League match Everton v Leeds is now up and running, kicking off at 5:30pm.
You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more
In each side’s previous game, Everton beat Fulham 3-2. Dominic Calvert-Lewin climbed to the top of the Premier League table of scoring charts with Craven Cottage double; Fulham left to rue defensive mistakes and another missed penalty as second-half fightback falls short.
Leeds could only draw 0-0 with Arsenal. Nicholas Pepe’s moment of madness does not prove too costly for Arsenal; Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Raphinha struck the woodwork for Leeds in Premier League clash at Elland Road.
PRESS CONFERENCES:
On nomination for FIFA coaching award
“To be nominated is always a distinction, I appreciate it. But every time a manager is singled out the players are involved in this singling out because the coach is always an appendix of the players and also the technical staff because the construction of a football team is not solely the responsibility of the one in charge so this nomination is also for the technical staff and the support and spirit of a club like Leeds that is also recognised as a result of this.
“Whilst it is a nomination it can also be perceived as excessive but any labour that generates a repercussion can have its praise or criticisms so I appreciate all the recognition and accept the criticism.”
Team news – Hernandez?
“Shackleton, Pablo and Llorente are still not available but the rest of the players are.”
On Everton – they have been up and down?
“Week to week I have been commenting on a team’s results, you have already commented on them for me so I don’t think I need to give an explanation.
“The results and succession of results speak for themselves and then there are results we can analyse.”
can you exploit defensive problems there?
“Prior to giving an explanation for our defensive woes I would require the same amount of time for them so I can’t give you a synthetic answer and in that press conference I appreciated the fact I was allowed for 20 minutes to give a good answer so the same applies now.”
On Ancelotti
“I have respect and admiration for Ancelotti, first of all because he has been wanted by all the best teams in the world, he has been chosen by some of them as part of their institutions in football which shows how good he is.
“The second thing is that he has triumphed everywhere he has been and the third thing is that he is a manager who is well respected by the players as well as his other colleagues.
“And the last thing is that he has never been no one has ever criticised his way of playing which is always an unselfish one and is always valuable.
“To have all of this in one manager is not very frequent.”
On Klich
“Klich for me is a player that can play in all the best teams in the world for me.
“So he is in Leeds by chance.
“It doesn’t have to do with the fact that I decided he continues at Leeds.
“To say in the first pre season I asked if he would consider playing as a centre back but it so happened that in one preseason game before the start of the season against Las Palmas the candidates for the player to play in the no 8 all started falling away. I a referring to Forshaw and Ronaldo Vieira and their absences allowed him to play and show his abilities and he has never been out of the team since.
“All the praise should go to him and to Victor Orta who is the player who brought him here.”
Ancelotti on Digne: “It is a big loss because he is a fantastic left-back, one of the best left-backs in Europe at the moment.”
“We have to manage this. Unfortunately, during a season, it can happen.
“I think we will be able to adapt.”
Carlo Ancelotti estimates Digne will be out for two or three months.
Coleman is out this weekend, he’s doing personal rehab at the minute.
Ancelotti on supporter return: “We have a good squad, we have good substitutes in that position. We have Nkounkou, we have Jonjoe Kenny on the right, we have the possibility to substitute. We will try.”
“This is really good news for the Premier League, not only for Everton.
“It’s true that Everton supporters are allowed, but everyone hopes that all the supporters will be allowed as soon as possible.
“It will be an advantage to have supporters at Goodison Park.
“This is what we need and what the Premier League in general needs.”
Ancelotti on defensive concerns: “Of course, we have to be concerned, we have to be worried. We conceded too many goals. We are working on this.”
On conceding goals: “It’s true that we scored a lot of goals in these first games, we were efficient in front because our strikers did really well. But we conceded too much and we need to avoid this, we need more balance.”
On Leeds: “Leeds are a dynamic team, it’s going to be an open match I think.”
On approaching year in charge: “On the football aspect there’s no surprise, I found a really good atmosphere. What surprised me most is the beauty of this area, this area is really nice in my opinion.”
On Alex Iwobi: “I was happy about his performance [against Fulham]. He did well.
“He can cover that position as a full-back.
“Iwobi is a good player but he needs to feel that confidence, as does everyone!
“For Alex it’s important to feel there are people that has confidence in him.”
On Andre Gomes: “It is one of the most important aspects to manage the players who are not playing in the moment.
“In the last two or three games he has not played as much as he did in the beginning.
“It doesn’t matter how many games he will play until the end of the season. He will play.
“I’m not disappointed by him. At the start of the season he was really, really good.
“Sometimes you choose the line-up for the tactical aspect, the physical aspect. You have to consider everything.”
On Gbamin: “In two weeks he will be here.
“We decided to leave him to finish his rehab individually.
“In two weeks he will be ready to train and to play.”
On Kenny: “I think he’s [Kenny] not fit 100%, but he’s fit and available to play.
“I think he’s not at his best at this moment because he was out for three weeks, soon he will be at 100%.”

THATSAGOAL TIPS:
Everton to Win and Both Teams to Score – 12/5 with FanTeam
The Toffees bounced back from a mini-slump that saw their fantastic start quickly fade from memory. The win over Fulham showcased some of Everton’s strong points but also exposed their weaknesses for all to see.
Ancelotti has got his attack firing but the side are still vulnerable at the back. Leeds were desperately unfortunate not to take all three points against Arsenal and should find the back of the net here. Sadly for them, Everton have more than enough firepower to win regardless.
Everton beat Fulham 3-2 last time out to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
