Everton fans protest outside training ground after club signs ZERO players in January

Everton fans took to protest outside the training ground after their club signs ZERO players in the January transfer window.

Despite Sean Dyche’s arrival to replace Frank Lampard, the Toffees were unable to sign any new players, while also losing one of their key players.

The Merseyside outfit currently sits 19th place in the Premier League, and is at serious risk of being relegated to the Championship.

Their supporters have protested against the chairman Bill Kenwright, and Farhad Moshiri over the running of the club, turning up at their training ground and demanded their resignations.

On Monday, Frank Lampard was replaced by Sean Dyche. There was a expectation that Dyche would be supported with signings ready for the fight to stay up.

The club sold Gordon to Newcastle, for £40million, rising to £45m. It was believed that this money would be reinvested in the playing squad.

Everton couldn’t get any deals, leading to Deadline Day disappointment, and Dyche’s squad is now in worse shape, unless the new boss can really get the team to buck up their ideas and actually show some fight.

A small group of fans gathered outside Finch Farm, the club’s training base, to vent their anger, placing up a number of banners that had the pictures of owner Farhad Moshiri, chairman Bill Kenwright, and director Denise Barrett-Baxendale and read: “Liars” and “Get out of our club.”

Everton were linked to a variety of players in the window, and it was anticipated that at least one would be incoming.

One of which, Conor Gallagher, a Chelsea midfielder. However, he chose to stay at Stamford Bridge.

talkSPORT report that the likes of Che Adams, Lucas Moura and Moussa Dembele were just a few of the others who were involved in a Goodison Park switch.

One name who does look to be joining, Andre Ayew, is reportedly set to fly to the UK within the next 24 hours ahead of a potential move to Everton.

The former Swansea and West Ham forward is currently under contract at Qatari club Al Sadd after agreeing a two-year deal in July 2021, and is five games away from triggering a 12-month extension.

But now a free agent, the Mail state that he will land in the UK within the next day and talk will begin to tie him down on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Fans will of course support 51-year old Sean Dyche going forward, but they can expect to vent a lot of anger at the club’s hierarchy for the downfall over the last 10 years.

After being appointed Everton boss, Dyche said: “We want to bring back a good feeling. We need the fans, we need unity and we need everyone aligned. That starts with us as staff and players.

“Our aim is to put out a team that works, that fights and wears the badge with pride. The connection with the fans can then grow very quickly because they’re so passionate.

“There is quality in this squad. But we have to make them shine. That’s the job of me and my staff.”

This is what Twitter users said as Everton fans protest outside the training ground after their club signs ZERO players in January…

@LarryLemonlegs: That’ll make sure we get some good players in on deadline day

@therangarich: Could’ve waited till tomorrow

@JamieJimmy8su: I count 7 people and three of them should be in bed. School night.

@Longy0106: What’s the point. Trying to get players in tonight if not protest tomorrow. There’s a time and place.

@JohnDUTFT: I’m I reading this thread correctly according to some people here the reason we didn’t sign any players for the whole of January is because a few fans decided to goto finch farm at 7pm on Jan 31st and let the board know how we feel #EFC 😂😂😂

@growles66: The fellas only allowed out if they took the kids with them!

@YouthxPositive: Why people complaining about the protest? You can’t blame them for protesting a few hours before the doors for transfers shut. It’s not their fault. They had enough time improve the squad & prepare them for the relegation battle.

@lukeWilko1878: At least one of them was chasing the players last week….

@markoos01: Love some comments to the protest at Finch Farm. You’re all right, the reason we didn’t sign anyone in the entire month of January was because of a protest at 9pm last night 🤣🤣

@A_Bates91: Bedsheets out again 😭

@marge3886: Our fanbase is the worst & absolutely toxic, why give the board an excuse to say why players never came in, just for likes & nothing to do with supporting the club otherwise they would have let the board fall on there swords, were going down & our fans are part of the problem

@Davidmo87: Did they all share a taxi?

@oharetezzel: An this is exactly why no one wants to sign for us. Toxic cunts the lot of them

@JDaord: I wasn’t for this but fans are sick to death of it this is shit I am 100% sure we are down this season everybody around us has leveled up to much in this window just same shit

@CraigMckibbin15: Gone there in numbers I see 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣

@kevindawes90: 🤦🏻‍♂️ Kids there as well. Embarrassing.

@Carr18Alex: Gift that keeps on giving 💀🤣

@BlueScoutBooker: My heart says protest, head says don’t, it’s just more ammunition for the board to fire at us! Then again the board have had a month to sign players…

@petermc10: The training ground is all locked up 😂😂

@peg_leg5125: F’ing marvelous, thanks @Everton for letting the fan base down again. For again gaslighting us throughout the day. We’re the only Premier League club not to buy anyone this window. This is beyond unacceptable. Don’t worry the fans will still be there we love the club

@EFCMatt1: Look at them slitting his tyres & scratching his paintwork!! #BlameTheFans

@UpperGwladysBlu: Well done to the people protesting at Finch Farm by the way. The club is an absolute disgrace from top to bottom & the scale of the lies being told constantly makes me terrified that something much worse is being hidden. I genuinely think we will end up in League 1 within 3yrs.

@EmeraldBluesIre: Shame on this board we badly needed reinforcements but it looks like they are happy with us to go down

@SG_EFC: Well thats the end of that then.. recall a few January’s under Moyes when we desperately needed good additions and it didnt happen, wonder what the common denominator is #EFC

@Ctorres2144: One could say that business was never open to begin with

@NeilEdwards83: I wouldn’t be surprised if he has resigned and fucked off!

@joewhitehead__: Gone home to mull over what could be the biggest mistake of his life and to write his resignation letter.
