There was epic Bradford City limbs at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday as stewards and police officers fall over trying to catch fans.
Andy Cook was on target as Bradford clinched on three points in what was a close affair between the two League Two playoff chasers.
Cook’s second half header was the only goal of a game which had few clear chances, with Mark Hughes’ team having the better of those created, and Jamie Walker, who could be seen picking up a flare during the winning goal celebrations, drawing two saves from Rovers goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell during the first half.
Doncaster’s James Brown tested Bradford keeper Harry Lewis after cutting in from the left, the hosts starting the second half brightly, with Tommy Rowe and Kyle Hurst both testing Lewis.
However, Bradford showed more fight, making Mitchell work hard to keep forced to make fine stops from Smallwood and Cook efforts.
Bradford went ahead on 71 minutes a corner sent in by Adam Clayton, a former Doncaster midfielder, and Cook was there to head the ball in.
Hughes’ men could have grabbed a second goal late on, Tom Anderson having to leave his line to keep out an attempt from Smallwood to make it 2-0.

Bradford boss Mark Hughes said: “I am pleased with every aspect of our play today,” he said.
“We got the balance right, and we knew when to clear our lines. We were always in control.
“They never really had sustained periods of pressure. That just shows how well we played. That is the type of performance I like.
“I knew at half-time that we had to win the game. I thought we had to step on the gas a little in the second half. Kicking towards our fans helped; they drove us forward and made sure we crossed the line.
He added: “We were all disappointed after Barrow. It was not a bad performance – we just did not do important things well and did not get the result.
“But, today, we were more dynamic up top and made sure we got on the end of things.
“From our point of view, we were in a comfortable position throughout.
“Everybody knows of Manny’s terrible injury, against this same opposition, and it seemed the stars had aligned.
“He was ready and he was there to do a job, which was to help see the game out.
“He played a part in that – he has been fit for a month – and today just seemed right for him to come back.
“I felt I could put him on and hope he enjoyed the moment.
“Those fans had a great time. I think they are pleased with how we played, and of course, the result. I hope they have a pleasant journey home.”
Doncaster boss Danny Schofield said, as per Telegraph and Argus: “In terms of creating chances and goalscoring opportunities that’s probably the lowest since I’ve been at the club.
“We had one big chance at 0-0, a cutback for Kyle Hurst, (but) I think that’s the only really good opportunity I can recall.
“I felt for probably 60 minutes the game was in the balance up until the goal,” he added, “then there was a big momentum shift.
“We found it difficult to get back into the game and create any more chances. But the first half in particular and start of the second half I thought we were good value.
“We started the second half stronger but I think some decision-making and poor choice of passes resulted in them being more on the front foot.
“To then concede from a set-play was a bit disappointing.”
